BREAKING NEWS: ROBINSON'S JEWELERS ON FIRE

While the Fire Department just pulled up, there is smoke coming from all over the building. Such a loss.

The Fire Department is about to close down Rt. 13 as there is a hydrant on the other side of the highway. They are trying to make that decision now.

They're going to draft water from the Tony Tank Bridge area and close a portion of Rt. 13 South.

Rt. 13 South Bound is now completely shut down.

They have cut open 3 vent holes in the roof.

Units are starting to return to their Stations. John Robinson is on the scene at 4:00 PM.

People around here are saying that you probably set that fire to burn the man out of his business, Joe.

Let it burn baby.

Robinson is filling out the claim forms as it burns! All those diamonds that just got burned up he wants to be compensated for! LOL

Anonymous said...

Yeah I'm sure he had all that expensive stuff in a fireproof safe.. He won't tell them that though...
Karma is a bitch

You people crazy around here!

Anonymous said...

Is the fire boat able to get to this, or is Tony Tank pond not accessible?

I don't wish misfortune on anyone. Anyone who would even think Joe would have anything to do with doesn't know him and is out of his mind. Even Joe were that type of person, which he isn't, he wouldn't put everything wonderful he has at risk for it. This a straight up report. Nothing mean in it.

Wait till they get the complaint from the EPA for sucking all those little fishes from the lake. The Waterkeepers Alliance will now sue the fire department.

Anonymous said...

Yeah OK,after all the neg crap Robinson wished on joes family F him.

Hmmm, that building is quite old. It used to be a computer store and ISP service, so it most likely had a hodge podge of wiring and electrical systems that were less than stable. Unless it is proven arson, I say electrical fire caused by a leak in the ceiling from yesterdays rains.

Anonymous said...

What did he do to him?

It was the Poderosa steak house originally.

If you read this blog you would know what J R has said about people.

I don't wish harm to anyone, especially ones family members, but to JR, I don't wish him any bad luck, but he is just such a big massive f**kng DH, wow, I guess we'll see how this plays out

Interesting that Hebron, Delmar and Fruitland Fire Departments were onscene. The faithful volunteers from Salisbury must have made a late showing or didn't show up at all. Lets be thankful for the county volunteers.

Let me guess you are one of the paid fire fighters? They couldn't even find the hydrants! It took them 10 minutes to figure out there was a pond right next door!

Anonymous said...

No just a guess.

Anonymous said...

no not a paid fire fighter. more like a concerned Salisbury citizen wondering what my taxes are paying for, or not paying for.

I don't trust Robinson at all. He's got the trying to be a big shot problem. He's never been financially stable and was in danger of losing his house a few years ago. Looks like bill collectors are starting to come after his again.

Follow the paper trail wow,

What a sad bunch of people on here. You take joy in the misfortunes of others. Whether you like an individual or not, it is not very christian like to rejoice in the suffering of others.

Actually we have seen enough out of Jon Robbinson that we know who the crazy one is.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal might want to study this one pretty closely.

Has he repaired his building on the plaza? I knew he collected on it and it stayed in a demolished state for a long time.

November 8, 2015 at 5:59 PM

No you should really thank Rick Hoppes, John Tull and the rest of you paid Farmin for running off the good volunteers because they were a threat to your jobs. The eradication of the volunteer fire service as it was once know in the Salisbury Fire Department has been methodically and systematically played out for many years by the paid fire chiefs and paid Farmin and pretty much finished off by John Tull and Rick Hoppes. But the good news is that we have a new Mayor and hopefully he has a brain and will get rid of the current leadership sooner than later. With new leadership there is hope for the volunteers and we have hope. Thank you for bringing that up.

If you are a concerned citizen and worried about your money you should worry about the paid firemen not the volunteers. There were no hydrants in this area. They called other companies with tankers to help.

Anonymous said...

The fire marshals have been restricted to positive links of cause.
So many fire from minorities have caused this due to racial discrimination. Buy a junk house , have a fire , got a new one , problem solved . Thanks Obama!

Anonymous said...

Hoppes should be embarrassed by this why aren't the SFD on building checks and inspections instead of grocery shopping? This is 2015 right not 1918 with horse drawn fire trucks???

Anonymous said...

I don't care for the man, but it's tragic to see any business burn. I feel for those who had jobs there. I personally one went into his store once when he was at his old building looking for a key for my Seth Thomas clock. He was very rude to me and said I was sol. I guess because I wasn't going to purchase something expensive? I found him very arrogant and never went back.

Anonymous said...

Why don't you people wait making your uninformed accusations until the investigation is complete and made public? My question is FFD is right down the street, Salisbury Companies have more than enough Equipment and personnel to handle this, why is it necessary calling the other Companies so far away? It appears to me if anything they'd go on some sort of alert status to cover Fruitland and Salisbury while they are tied up with the fire.
A fire plug across a US Highway from a business area, now that really makes sense, bet it never gets moved.

Anonymous said...

Salisbury mayors failure of SFD not pointing these hazards out.

yeah we know the early Football game went to overtime

Anonymous said...

From a property owner a block away, Fruitland was called first for an issue that I had. Salisbury was the backup.

Anonymous said...

Wanted to remodel huh?

Anonymous said...

If this was an accident, I'm sorry for everyone. If this was intentional or an act of stupidity, then he deserves any bad consequence. After all, he has the fastest melting pot in town and probably keeps it on for "special" jobs.

Sgt USMC said...

You do realize the only paid "farmin" on this call were the Assistant Chief, the duty crew on Engine 16 (5 total) and Paramedics (4 initially). The rest of these people "standing around" are volunteers from three departments. You obviously have no experience with firematics aside from apparently being a cyber critic.

I have concerns about what my taxes are paying for in the city. In one area there is 24 hour a day career fire coverage. In the rest of the city there is career coverage from 7am until 530. From 530 pm until 7 am if I need help, maybe I will get an immediate response or maybe I will have to wait 5 minutes until the career engine is dispatched. My taxes should be paying immediate staffing 24 hours a day across the entire city. Not just a portion.

Anonymous said...

But but but i make the dems signs please don't investigate.

Anonymous said...

There open on Sundays ?

Anonymous said...

I work at Robinsons , pretty screwed up comments here , his wife was almost caught in the fire , there were 7 fire Marshalls investigating here today along with the k-9 unit and was deemed electrical fire from pretty old building emergency lights shorting out is thought to be the source by the fire marshalls , get some facts then make your accusations , on a lighter note well be up and printing before weeks end so you anonymous folks can still get your printed apparral and your signs , yeah we do more volume then anyone around so I'm guessin that includes you folks too

Anonymous said...

No we are not open on Sundays but we are there working on orders

Anonymous said...

Tried to deal with this man a few years back and found him to be very arrogant and made me feel uneasy. Reminded me of someone who wants to be something he will never be.the reason there are so many negative comments here is because of the reputation he has created.

Anonymous said...

How come the SFD doesn't do building checks to point out these "Old" issues with these buildings?

Anonymous said...

100 % correct.

November 9, 2015 at 1:58 PM

It fairly simple why they didn't do a check. This building in located in the county, not the city. Also the reason why there was not a hydrant on that side of 13. The city limits stop on the opposite side of 13. The area from W College Ave, with the exception of Taney and Druid Hill Ave, south to Tony Tank on the west side of 13 is solely within the county jurisdiction. The county fire protection division are the ones tasked with fire safety inspections in the county. The SFD has no legal authority outside of the corporate limits of the city. Furthermore, the SFD does not enforce the fire code of the city according to the Charter. The Dept of Building, Permitting, and Inspections is responsible for enforcement.

Anonymous said...

So i say people in the Buildings dept need to answer some of these questions Joe.

True Eastern shore idiot.

I've Flushed Turds down the toilet with more Integrity then JR. I can attest that he had faulty wiring that wasn't up to code. Karma's a Bitch JR - Suck on that !

Anonymous said...

Ask your mayor and city council why they cut the Inspection Division and legislation to give the SFD this ability. Don't blame Hoppes, he tried!

Amazing now JR acquired. A downtown location bc the old one would take up to a YEAR to fix LOL AMAZING.
