BALTIMORE —Baltimore City officials have approved spending more than $100,000 to settle two lawsuits against city police officers.
One of the cases settled Wednesday concerns a police officer who now faces serious trouble but apparently went unnoticed internally a year earlier after the previous incident that led to the lawsuit.
Officer Wesley Cagle is charged with attempted murder. He's accused of shooting unarmed burglary suspect Michael Johansen in the groin after Johansen had already been shot and wounded by other officers. The incident happened in December.
"(He was) calling me all sorts of names and he shot me while I was on the ground," Johansen said.

What's going to happen is we won't have any police officers because no one wants to become a LEO and get arrested or sued for doing your job.
