Twenty-three snow plows, which would cost about $69,000 new, went missing earlier this year from a maintenance yard in Glen Burnie, State Highway Administration officials said.
The disappearance of the 10-foot-wide plows, each consisting of a blade and hitch frame, was first noted June 25 and the SHA contacted Maryland State Police, who continue to investigate, said David Coyne, deputy administrator and chief of operations for the highway agency.
"The value (of the plows) purchased new — and these weren't new — would be about $3000 each," Coyne said.
Police were told the plows had been placed in maintenance facility at 910 Stewart Ave. in the spring, State Police spokesman Gregory Shipley said in an email. Police haven't established if a theft occurred.

Check Gov O'Malleys garage.
No one who has read this post has a clue about logistics ie how in Gods name can anyone get away with stealing such a huge amount? Was Chriss Angel involved?
157-You've earned a golf clap. Solid.
Government employees. Not my job to watch them there plows. That's somebody else's job. I get paid to stand here with the other 3 guys watching Jimbob dig a hole with a shovel.
WHat can we do to get our department budget up? Hey... I have an idea....
guess you will have to wait till next snow to find them
Thar down to omallies garage getin serrviced
They only cost $69,000? Sounds cheap for a snow plow.
This IS a suburb of Baltimore , that explains it all!
1 snow plow for some dope , that's a good deal.
Okay! Really? How is it the 23 snow plows just "disappear"???
Sounds like an inside job for sure...grunted employee perhaps??
4:23, it's the cost of the plow and attachment, not the truck that they attach to. So each plow costs around $3000. The trucks weren't stolen.
On ebay right now: 2011 INTERNATIONAL WORKSTAR 7400 Dump Truck with plow +55,000 miles, asking over $89k to buy, so as 4:23pm has already stated the $69k estimate is definitely wrong, probably closer to $100k for a new replacement truck. Inside job?
Can anyone tell me how in the world the SHA could miss these snow plows??? Doesn't anyone pay any attention to what is parked in the garage and where these trucks are on any given day????
For heaven sake, what a lazy, careless, asleep moron is the supervisor of this garage?? They should be fired.
The article didn't say the the trucks were stolen only that the plows and the associated attachment equipment were stolen. What the hell does the price of a 2011 truck have to do with this story?
The plow is the blade and the hardware to attach it to a truck which can be used for many different things.
Some places attack them to trash trucks for example.
They are very heavy though. Perhaps over two tons.
These are probably older plows which have been replaced when new trucks are ordered with new plows included on the state bid.
Maybe the state was storing them to be reused as bullet barricades for trucks during the next baltimore feral mongrel riots.
Gotta love them state UNION workers!!!!
Average viewer can't comprehend what is written. That's why fast food places are the only businesses that come to the area. Forget attracting real businesses.
Sounds like an inside job
Obviously NOT an inside job! So sure that there are a million other trucks outfitted with that brand receiving hardware that could get into the locked yard any night of the week to pick them up! Of course, if you folks want to still insist...
Boy, Howdy! One or more of these "employees"must go!
The fact they have opted for collective bargaining, has NOTHING to do with it.
