WHAT Happened to Your Right to Religious Beliefs ?? This Country is GONE GONE as we knew it....BYE BYE America...You was Great once and sad to see u go..

Anonymous said...

This will be interesting. A federal court telling a state what they have to do! Civil war may have begun!

Anonymous said...

Exactly where she belongs. Jesus doesn't sign her pay check.

Anonymous said...

She has a right to her religious beliefs, however the bible states render to Ceasar what is Ceasar's and render to God what is God's. This means follow the laws of the land as well as following the laws of God. If she has a problem issuing same sex marriage licenses, then find another job. I am a christian and I don't agree with same sex marriage, if my beliefs conflict with my job, then I would change my job. I don't drink or smoke, but if I was a cashier at Walmart I would not refuse to sell beer/wine or cigarettes to people. This lady is looking for her 15 minutes of fame, I do not understand her or respect her stand on this issue. I would bet you that there are other things in the bible she picks and chooses to follow.

Everyone has a right to practice their own personal religion. What they cannot do is impose their religion on others thru a public office. I find it amazing that so many on this site can't see to comprehend that this is a fundamental liberty of this country.

Anonymous said...

You got that right 1:27. Sad day for America. Must accept people for what they are I guess! You don't have a right to your own beliefs.

Anonymous said...

1:47 No one ordered her to change her beliefs, just to do the job she was elected to do.

Anonymous said...

As well they should! If you can't do your job, resign! And a woman who's been divorced 3 times has no right to make moral judgements on others.

Her job requires her to uphold the laws, whether she believes in them or not.

I think they should throw away the key personally, let her rot in jail.

Anonymous said...

Well said 1:39! I agree!

Anonymous said...

According to Ben Carson she will now become a homosexual. I see wedding number five coming up!

Anonymous said...

If her Christian beliefs can trump the Constitution then this would open the door for Muslims to ignore the Constitution for their beliefs. Is this what you really want for America? Look at the big picture of what is best for America.

Anonymous said...

What's next legalizing marriage between a man and a boy and then when someone feels the need to not sign a marriage certificate for that you going to send them to jail for disobeying a law. Really America is going down the tubes. You people that think gay marriage are just plain crazy and what is wrong with America.

Anonymous said...

Churches will be next. Pastors and preachers will be jailed for refusing to marry homosexual couples. What will happen is all churches will do refuse to do marriages and instead it will go underground.

Anonymous said...

WHY DO GAYS EXPECT US TO ABIDE BY THERE RULES AND WONT ABIDE BY MY STRAIGHT RULES ?

Anonymous said...

This woman is hardly the champion for religious right in this country - married three times - 2 children out of wedlock. There is a separation of church and state in this country and no matter who you are or think you are - it must be upheld. BTW - I don't agree with same sex marriage so don't be calling me a liberal.

Anonymous said...

Isn't she elected ? Most clerks are! I guarantee she's one of the few actually doing her job. What the people want. Yet alone her beliefs! Wtf! How bout it sheeple? This is what you want. Cops with tanks full body armor and full autos coming to arrest you for your beliefs and doing your job. Concentration camps are around the corner.

Anonymous said...

Thank Oscama.

Anonymous said...

2:24 Why do you type in all caps?

Anonymous said...

2:18 Pure BS and you know it.

Anonymous said...

Why should they put her in jail and make a "martyr" out of her? So what if she is elected, or appointed. If she won't do the job as the law is written, like it or not, she should be simply fired from the position, period. No need to put her in jail.

If she is so distraught by the idea of issuing marriage licenses to gay people, she should follow her conscience and simply resign.

Anonymous said...

I agree with 1:39 this may very well be the "cross" she's called to pick up. What's interesting to me is the response from within the Christian community. The progressives are condemning her and the conservatives are lauding her. To those condemning her, how about a little empathy for a woman who is struggling to serve the Lord as best she can? To those supporting her, how about helping her out with legal fees (I have a feeling she's got at least one patron in that department) and living expenses going forward because it looks like she's going to lose her job.

Anonymous said...

She didnt do her job. She disobeyed the court.

Anonymous said...

Exactly.

Anonymous said...

But she is the clerk. An elected position. Whick I guarantee you the people are Christians there by majority.

Anonymous said...

No one can fire her, except the Kentucky legislature and they are out of session. Governor will not incur the extra expense to the State of Kentucky for an extra session.

Anonymous said...

The court should not have allowed gay marriage. It is against the Bible and the beliefs this country was founded on.

Anonymous said...

So while she is in prison.....and until they can get someone to take her place, which will take some time since it is an elected position. People still can not get a marriage license. They will go to another place/county and get it. So by the courts locking her up they are denying straight people from getting a marriage license.

Anonymous said...

she disobeyed the court?? you mean the government, right?

how dare her disobey something like "marriage" between an man and woman.

we should all just prostate ourselves at the feet of the government and do as the mob says.

what could possibly go wrong.

you sheeple will reap what you mow.

Anonymous said...

2:03 You are a bit behind the times. The muslim isn't adhering to the Constitution now. That boat has already sailed

Anonymous said...

2:13 that is a great idea, I could marry my young friend and then we could have sex all the time and I wouldn't have to register as a sex offender.

Anonymous said...

@2:25 I don't believe she has ever said she is perfect. As a matter of fact I believe she said she was far from perfect She is standing for what she believes in. Why is that ok for other groups to do but not Christians? BTW, you may not agree with gay marriage but you are judging someone for past mistakes. Are you perfect?? I think not! Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!

Shannon Ragland, of the Kentucky Trial Court Review. “Her conduct has terrorized not just her staff but everyone that works in the courthouse. And all for a foolish mission aided by out-of-state charlatan lawyers trying to raise money for their ‘religious liberty’ mission.”

Anonymous said...

She is a hypocrite. Married four times and had out of wedlock children. Do you really think this woman is a devout Christian?

Anonymous said...

This women have the right to believe in anything according to her religious beliefs and faith. But, she do not have the right to impose her religious beliefs on anyone who may or may not have the same beliefs. Nor do she have the right to deny anyone and I mean every American born tax paying citizen the right to LIFE, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS just because of her place of employment. All of us believe in something. Some of us have strong faith base beliefs. But, we do not have the right to impose our religious beliefs or pass judgement on others just because they choose to live the lifestyle of Homosexuality. I don't agree with this lifestyle based on my strong religious beliefs. Who am I to judge others, which is what this women did. (Heb 12:23)

Anonymous said...

So if she did not do her job, why not fire her instead of sending her to jail? Hilary Clinton has broken countless federal laws and she is running for President still lol, give me a break.

Anonymous said...

Cant you all just feel the rainbow love...all part of the agenda..hidden dangers of the rainbow. Read it!

Anonymous said...

This case has no bearing on what the Hildabeast has done, whatsoever. No one cares about Hildabeast Clinton. Let's pppllleeeaaassseee stop talking about Hildabeast Clinton.

Anonymous said...

I hope she becomes postal

Anonymous said...

She doesn't have to be in jail. All she had to do was promise not to interfere with the other five or six assistant Clerks who said they would be willing to issue licenses to same sex couples. She said she would not allow them to issue either. Tomorrow her assistant clerks are going to issue same-sex marriage licenses and she is going to be in jail where she belongs. The only ones who should be in jail with her who are not are her lawyers.

Her behavior in this case may explain why she has been married four times.

I have no empathy for her or those Republican presidential candidates who are supporting her position. What a sorry bunch of panderers.Supporting her At her expense to try to gain support for themselves. Pathic.

Anonymous said...

Joe the funny thing is she is a democrat.post that story.

Anonymous said...

Try reading. That's exactly what I said

Anonymous said...

That's not accurate. The deputy clerks affirmed in court today that they would issue licenses

Anonymous said...

Yeah? What's your better idea?

Anonymous said...

Couldn't agree more. Once again the emotional, irrational religious insert their idiot opinions.

Anonymous said...

Excellent synopsis! Nicely done. Bravo! Hopefully some of the religious zealots will try reading your summary and even possibly comprehend. We can only hope.

Anonymous said...

She is nothing more than an emotional religious nut job

Anonymous said...

Let them within any sin, cast the first stone.

Anonymous said...

I support her decision, and unless she's "Impeached", she's still an elected official doing her job!

Pete da Pirate said...

2:43 newsflash the courts don't always get it right.

Anonymous said...

She's a hero and an inspiration to take a stand against evil.

Anonymous said...

We live in a society where if you don't bake a cake or give a same sex marriage couple a license then the government will destroy you but if you sell dead baby parts the same government will fund you. Better call on Jesus now to forgive you of your sins before it's too late

Anonymous said...

I see NOM has poked their nose into this. They smell money and up pops NOM trying solicit donations.

Anonymous said...

Funny thing is, she had her kids while married to husband number two, but husband number four is the daddy, thank god we have her to protect the sanctity of marriage!

Anonymous said...

If Kim Davis was a Muslim who said I won't issue marriage licenses unless they agree with Shira law. No one would question what the judge has done.

Anonymous said...

I wonder what does her religious beliefs say about marrying multiple times. classic example of people thinking that they represent God and the thought of God gave me the "authority" to do what I feel like. yeah its a sad day in America. all this freedom of religion talk. But no talk about separation of church and state. Constant Contractions. if she didn't want to obey the law of the land (state) based on her religious beliefs(church). she should have separated from her public official title. obviously, she prided herself on being able to deny or grant marriage licenses to individuals that she decided were deserving. Sounds more like a power trip

Anonymous said...

5:48
Of course. They just watched their boss arrested. They'll do anything they're told.

Anonymous said...

8:44. What an excellent point.

Anonymous said...

You all have missed the BIIIGGGGGG point, The government shouldn't be in a position of telling people who can or can't get married. Marriage is a religious event. Why should you need the permission of the government at all? If the government weren't given the power of determining who can or can't marry, this would not be an issue. Marriage is between two people and their God. This is another fine example of the mess caused when the government interferes where it doesn't belong. Now let that lady out of jail and re-instate her religious freedom!

Anonymous said...

We're not missing the.point. While it is a religious event it also results in favorable government benefits for the spouses. There are very real legal implications.

Anonymous said...

Really? What if her religious ideology called for stoning ? Would you advocate her using her office for that?

Anonymous said...

She is not doing her job. That's the point.

Anonymous said...

Such a good Christian women. Divorced multiple time, kids by a married guy. Whatever happened to "let he who is without sin cast the first stone"?

Anonymous said...

gay marriage really. Whats next marrying you dog or cat. WTF As for Catlyn getting an ESPY I quit watching ESPN for ever. I don't need the freak show. I guess we need a hetro flag so we can wave it around. Simply sickening.

Anonymous said...

Christianity is not the law of the land. Didn't any of you take a civics class in school?

Anonymous said...

So why are we the tax payers forced to give the muslims in jails like Gitmo a special diet because of their religion?

Anonymous said...

No you ARE missing the big point. The government shouldn't be in the business of dealing out benefits either. See once you let them into your personal life it spreads like cancer. This is not what government was designed to do.

Anonymous said...

@5:47 Bingo!!

Anonymous said...

Anonymous - 2:34 PM
Because he/she is an IGNORAMUS.

Anonymous said...

2:55 PM – I thought this country was founded because of people trying to get away from oppression of those wanting to force a particular religion on them. Go to school and get an education in history.

Anonymous said...

9:37 PM – So does that mean that those people who don’t believe in God should not be allowed to get married?

Anonymous said...

Yes, this lady has been married multiple times and if you read the stories about her, she states that she became a born again Christian about 4 years ago which would have been after her marriages. That means she would be forgiven for that sin.

The issue that I have with this situation is the same as I have with the bakers who didn't want to bake the cake for the marriage ceremony for gays. The government is going to "force" everyone to accept gays. Will the government take away "tax exempt" status from churches that refuse to marry gays. You can bet they will. Will they fine the churches or lock up the pastors who refuse to perform the marriage ceremonies? You can bet they will. This is just another weapon in the war against Christianity. And for you people who don't believe that this is driven against Christianity, when was the last time you heard of gays going to a Muslim place of business and being turned away. You haven't. Now does that mean it hasn't happened.

I know there are Muslim bakeries. How come none of the gays are going there and asking for a "marriage cake?" Haven't seen that in the news at all. Haven't seen a single Muslim story about gays in the news.

The Supreme Court does not make laws in this county. I don't know when our whole system went to "pot," but it is a shame that our fearless leader can break laws with impunity, Hilary Clinton can break laws with impunity, Al Sharpton can owe millons of dollars in tax fraud with impunity, but we will lock up a lady who won't issue a marriage license because of her religious beliefs and they will fine a baker 130,000.00 for not baking a cake when race baiter Al owes how many million in taxes and has no intention of paying and that is okay.

I believe in Jesus and all I can say is that I hope he comes back soon because if he doesn't the judgements that he will impose on this country will be the likes of things that we have never seen before. Then people will be saying, "How could God let something like this happen?"

Anonymous said...

Ahhh..now I understand. .you're an anarchist

Anonymous said...

I think it was..but the religious right is no better than the zealous Muslims. They both believe everyone should be governed by their moral code. In short...all religions are dangerous to the citizens when mixed with government.

Anonymous said...

You are correct about rendering to Ceasar what is Ceasar's but that doesn't mean knowingly supporting or upholding something that is a sin. God doesn't want you to support sin...ever.

Anonymous said...

The progressives are behind this it's a war on faith and everything else that makes the country what it is, They are dividing people up and pitting them against each other for an easy take over.

Anonymous said...

I agree 6:16. And this woman's arrest is an example of the unintended consequences of big government.

Anonymous said...

5:47. YES!!!!!

Anonymous said...

How true.

Anonymous said...

Isn't she violating her oath of office?

Anonymous said...

In case you have forgotten Homosexual activists have been breaking laws in our country for almost 50 years to advance their agenda, and now all of a sudden, they demand everyone else obey the law, a law not passed by Congress, but a ruling delivered by the Supreme Court which is prohibited from making law. So, in the name of the law, activists undermine and destroy the rule of law, then make new law illegally, demanding the rest of us obey. Tyranny is the only word for it.

Anonymous said...

If a military person can refuse to go to war and kill, as a conscientious objector, why can't she refuse to do her duty, as a conscientious objector?

Anonymous said...

Its appears that she runs afoul of the law by refusing to allow her office to perform a legal required duty. She should resign, and settle the whole thing. She will then be out of jail and free to her opinion and religious beliefs.

Anonymous said...

She ain't gonna resign from a $80k/yr job in that hillbilly state. She's practically a millionaire there.

Anonymous said...

So 8:21 you're saying that if someone believes government is getting too big you're an anarchist?

Anonymous said...

Right,a civil war.No one is gonna do nuttin as usual.
