HAGERSTOWN — A Frederick Police Department officer who was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol after hitting a parked car in June started a two-year term of unsupervised probation Thursday.
Officer 1st Class Deborah Sue Kidwell, 47, appeared in Washington County District Court, where she was sentenced to probation before judgment, meaning her guilty plea to driving under the influence will be stricken from her record if she successfully completes probation.
Kidwell was traveling on St. Paul’s Road in Boonsboro when she hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle at about 4 a.m. June 7.
Her police powers were suspended, and she has been assigned to administrative duties since shortly after she was charged.

Just like the state attorney that got a slap on the wrist a few years ago, drunk with a loaded gun is supposed to be mandatory jail time!
PBJ is a standard first offense. If she completed all the normal requirements for a standard first offense case, then teo years probation is actually a longer than normal term it's usually 18 months or even less.

I don't drink and have never had a DUI, but from what I see and hear, these are also "first time offender" requirements.

I have seen someone get more punishment for speeding that did NOT cause an accident than she is getting. I guess it is all in who you know...
The criminal justice system takes care of its own. Try getting that treatment as a civilian. Good luck with that, unless you are wealthy.
