Here's the deal. The first image below is a prime example of how stupid these educators are. First of all, even I caught the FACT that it's not more than FIVE times in "this year". They were so quick to respond to our article that they didn't even read what the paperwork states. It's five passes for "each term", not the entire year. Someone was trying to cover their rear.
Now, since when should ANY student depend on their educators teaching them "economy" ethics? After all, wasn't it these educators who pissed away $140,000.00 (+ or -) on GIFT CARDS for the children when in fact that were using that money to go to Bars and Restaurants instead!
Nevertheless, the following was found on Facebook below. By the way, it's not "Them they'll", it's THEN they'll.
It's not just one school in the county. My son just presented his 3 bathroom passes for the semester. As you can see in the picture they are allowed 7 minutes or they will get detention. I asked what if you have to go 4 or more times? What's the penalty? He said he was told you simply can not go more than 3 times per semester. Well I am not nor will I accept this period. This is the most absurd rule I have ever heard of. I understand the abuse by some students, and those that abuse the use should be punished, but every student being punished is just nuts. Anyway I will be at Bennett high tomorrow to make it very clear that my son will not be punished for using the restroom period. No student should be forced to hold in the need to use a restroom or possibly have an accident just because of poor policies. I hope more parents speak up so these types of policies are eradicated from the school system.

Be careful standing up for your kids. They boe will have you arrested. Get along or get arrested. Your kids are theirs to do what they want with.
My son used to not eat or drink anything at lunch just because of this. I am so glad he is now out of the public school system! What a joke!!!!
The list as to why I homeschool just keeps growing!
Worst school system I have ever seen! The BOE is a joke and the leadership is horrible.
Much to do about nothing. Find a real cause and stand for it. This is not important.
Why it leaks from county HR department all the time?
Obviously you should stay child free.
Scrool chancelor?
Just to clear up my confusion,., are the kids EXPECTED to use the restroom BETWEEN classes??
Are they issued these as a way to be cognizant of their time management?
Its been a long time ago, but I think we were encouraged to use the bathroom between classes,.,
BUT NEVER discouraged, or given coupons!!??
Altho, I have heard that the young kids are actually having sex in the bathrooms in high school,.,
the worst we EVER did was smoke in the bathroom.
The world has seriously changed for the worst.
when I was a kid, we weren't allowed to use the bathroom except for designated times. these kids are in middle school not pre k. Stop babying your kids people. they will survive if hey don't pee whenever they feel like it.
Your a real ass ,hope you dont have kids.
My child has a disorder that requires immediate gratification of any wants, needs or desires, including leaving class at anytime. It is called self entitled spoilification. Reasonable accommodation must be provided by the BOE, coaches, police and any other persons in the general vicinity. Thanks for understanding.
I have three kids in school and agree with Anon 9:32
It's not about babying it is about providing incentives for something beyond anyone's control. Example to educate those that don't understand. My daughter received a emergency pass for her math class. That pass allows four uses. If it is never used she gets 20 bonus points. So lets say she contracts a stomach bug, something she did not want or plan. Now she has to go to the bathroom suddenly. She loses 5 points. Next month she starts menstruating during class, bum luck, 10 points gone.
Do you people who say quit babying see the issue? Never had a GI problem in your life? How would you like it if your boss told you to clock out to go to the bath room? Understand now?

I do have kids. They understand there is a time to use the restroom. They understand it is not ok to disrupt class because they have poor time management skills. They also understand the term 'hold it' until the appropriate time. it's sad you have brought kids into the world that cannot grasp these simple things.
1033 yeah I understand that you are someone who think that your needs or your childs needs are everyone else's problem. So what if she looses points. If it is that traumatizing to her then she will learn to wash her hands and keep them off her face and keep others from getting too close.
I sure hope a stomach flu/virus doesn't happen upon these classes of students.
I sure hope all of you crying about this enjoy having your kids live with you well into their 40's bahahah
Homeschool is the way to go. You make the rules. You teach your child. You instill values and morals. You decide your child's destiny. Public school has become a joke. Common core is ridiculous nonsense. The teachers are overwhelmed. The admins cater to the troublemakers while overlooking the behaved. The policies are simply a smoke screen to keep outsiders from snooping further. 20 years tops before there is no such thing as a public school building. Virtual school will be the answer.
When I was in school, there were exactly 3 minutes between classes, when the bell rang you HAD to be in the classroom. That was supposed to cover time to go to our locker if needed, and get to the next class, which could be at the other end of the building and up six flights of steps. No way to go to the bathroom in that much time. We would have to ask permission during class.
" My son used to not eat or drink anything at lunch just because of this. I am so glad he is now out of the public school system! What a joke!!!! September 3, 2015 at 7:57 AM"
7:57 I doubt it was because of this but he may not have wanted to use the bathroom because of the other students who might have been in there.
I really don't see what all the belly aching is about. There were very few times I had an emergency in school and as was written here yesterday they can go between classes and before school without a pass. And it appears a lot of these kids are middle school age. That's a problem right there.
