NyAnn Smith finished her goal, but she didn't live long enough to enjoy it.
An avid runner from Towson, she wanted to do 50 races in one year before turning 50; she made it to 53. But just four days after her birthday, she was killed.
"It's been difficult for all of us because while we've been waiting for everything to happen, there's no real closure," said Ginnie Welsh, a family friend.
On Sept. 7, 2014, Maryland State Police say Smith was on a motorcycle on 50 eastbound outside of Salisbury, when a car crashed into her. The driver, Taylor Morrison, 23, stayed at the scene.

How can it be hit and run? It clearly says he stayed at the scene. And why bring his parents into this? He was 23 years old, clearly and adult under any interpretation?
8:50 I wondered that too, especially when the article said charges were filed the same day.
Ok why does the caption on the pic say hit and run when the article says Taylor stayed at the scene.
to my knowledge he also had seizure issues. this may have happened.
The title is very misleading. I know the Morrison's, Taylor is a good kid. He did stay at the scene and was devastated by this. I am not aware if it was because of a seizure. Sorry to hear, the issues just keep piling on top of the family. They are good people.
Is the Department Of Justice still investigating this Mayors town of Pocomoke?
Why do you all believe what the news says?crazyness
Damn a motorcycle. Used to ride, would rather live now. More power to those who still do.Ride safe.
Obviously not a hit and run. Media trying to pay up hype by connecting the boy to his father who is undergoing a lot of media hype himself. Whether Mayor Morrison is correct or incorrect in the decisions made....whether Taylor is found guilty or not guilty....there is absolutely no valid reason that either should be referenced to the other in the media.
