Happened upon this on Facebook recently. This will probably show up in the USA, and at present is used in Switzerland. Google LIDAR for details.
Speed kills. Many drivers do not obey the speed limit. Put them on all highways! .
its not difficult to obey the speed limit.
If we have these devices why do we need cops? Half the time they make up lies about why they pulled you over to begin with. You rarely see violations for seat belts, tag lights, and other moving violations. It's always speeding so they can bring money in.
Let us have more of the State, to hell with Freedom. I bet you never speed do you?

How is it not? They are told to bring revenue in.
Honestly what's the big deal? Yes they are there for two reasons; one to slow people down and two to produce state revenue. Don't speed excessively and you have nothing to worry about. Not to mention those who choose to speed excessively will take on the burden oh lowering your taxes. I'm good with them.
Remember that speeding cops kill. Put these on the many miles of guardrail that have been installed on Route 50 and save some lives.

I've said before and will remind you cheerleaders again --- it has NOTHING to do with 'safety" or "slowing people down".
I can get FIFTY of these tickets a month and as long as the State gets my checks in the mail, I'm golden.
Stop spouting State propaganda and weak reasoning.
