MARIJUANA AND MARRIAGE

For those who haven't heard, Washington State recently passed two laws. They legalized gay marriage and legalized marijuana.

The fact that gay marriage and marijuana were legalized on the same day makes perfect Biblical sense.

Leviticus 20:13 says: "If a man lies with another man they should be stoned".
Apparently we just hadn't interpreted it correctly before!

Now THAT is funny :)

Funny but only because Leviticus was quoted incorrectly. The actual passage reads "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.". There are other translations as well but none that I could find that say anything about being stoned. Probably shouldn't misquote the Bible in an attempt to make a feeble joke.

It says something about tattoos in there too i don't see a move to make them illegal.

good point 1:19,as you know bible verses can be translated to suit just about any agenda and thats what conservatives do so well.

I all for gays having equal rights under government law, but there should never be a situation where they demand a church to marry them. There is NO constitutional RIGHT to marry, just fees and government forms...money grab.

1:19 The bible was written by many men, and men are with fault, correct?

Wrong. They can only be translated either correctly or incorrectly. Those who wish to subjugate the Bible claim it can be "whatever someone wants it to be".

Having said all of that, keep in mind that Leviticus is an Old Testament scripture. It pre-dates the event of Jesus Christ's revelation. For the new testament Christian, Leviticus is viewed as Jewish literature. The Christian does not abide by Old Testament instructions such as "an eye for an eye . . ."

Jesus Christ gave us a new commandment: To love your neighbor as yourself, and to do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Thank you

I guess you should have read the comments before you made yours. Sometimes it's better to just keep your mouth shut when you have no idea what you are talking about.
