ACTIVISTS AND POLITICIANS ARE VILLIFYING SOUTHERN CULTURE AND OUR HERITAGE AS BEING BIGOTED AND RACIST. WE KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT THE CASE. AND WE KNOW THAT IN HAZZARD COUNTY THERE WAS NEVER ANY RACISM.
THOUGH THE FLAG HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM SUCH PLACES AS WALMART, TARGET AND AMAZON, IT WILL NEVER BE REMOVED FROM ANY OF OUR COOTER’S STORES AND MUSEUMS. WE ARE ALL THE SAME GOOD PEOPLE TODAY THAT WE WERE LAST WEEK AND LAST YEAR AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE SHAMED INTO TURNING OUR BACKS ON OUR HERITAGE AND OUR CONVICTIONS.
WE ARE NOT RACISTS. WE DESPISE RACISM AND BIGOTRY. AND WE THINK THE PEOPLE WHO ARE CREATING THIS “CULTURAL CLEANSING” ARE THE REAL BIGOTS IN THIS STORY.
WHEN WE SAY OUR FLAG STANDS FOR “HERITAGE, NOT HATE” AND “PRIDE, NOT PREJUDICE”, WE MEAN IT. AND WE BELIEVE THAT OLD SAYING, “YOU CAN’T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING IF YOU FORGET WHERE YOU CAME FROM.”
COOTER’S IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO SELL OUR SOUTHERN SYMBOLS AS LONG AS THERE IS A COOTER’S. I WILL FIGHT THESE PEOPLE UNTIL HELL FREEZES OVER, AND THEN I WILL FIGHT THEM ON THE ICE.

Every one of you can legally drape a confederate flag over the front of your house,garage,or hang it somewhere in your front yard.So many comments have expressed outrage lately that I'm sure I'll see thousands out there in obvious places.
The "heritage" that you're defending is the heritage of "States Rights" - the right to own slaves; the "values of the rural South" refer to the economic value of slave ownership.
If the confederate battle flag is not racist then why was it resurrected in response to Brown v Board of Ed (desegregation of schools) and again with the passage of the Civil Rights Act?
The dishonesty of those defending the flag is very disturbing to many people who actually have studied our history.
The National Park Services have ordered the removal of all Confederate flag merchandise from the park stores. That is going to really cut into the sales at the many civil war sites. There is a petition to remove the Confederate faces on Stone Mountain. There is a call to rename the Army Bases, change the names of streets, and schools, the movement is just like the persecution of the Jews in 1939. Who would have ever thought that the Nazi's would rise to power in America. (Nazi's of today are also known as "Flaggers")
