600.00 sounds about right to me if the description is accurate. Lucky to get that much..
Click on "source", then on bid history. How's that good old boy system working for all you wanting to fix up your Crown Vic's??

9might be the right price, but an auction that lasts 5 minutes excludes me and you from having the chance to bid on it. Get it? Tom sold it to a "friend" in FIVE MINUTES and closed the auction! 904, yes, the price may be right, but how could you say that without 30 days to get the final bid?
Can we say "good Old Boy" system here?
Can someone tell me how a car with 138,000 miles really needs a new motor? Or does it really?
Did anyone pick up on the fact that this was the City of Salisbury and it's police department raping the tax payers again!!
Run 24/7 for years. Chase bad guys, run women, carry guns. You no real man stuff. Never mind you wouldn't understand.
point missed by 3 miles. Amazing!
The city does all of its surplus property sales with the GovDeals auction site. Once an item is committed to auction, it's all on GovDeals to sell it, by whatever auction "deals" it chooses. They then take a piece of the profits and the rest is returned to the city's funds. Hundreds of municipalities do the same thing with GovDeals. Check out the site.

I think you missed the point entirely. They didn't give anyone a chance to even bid on this auction before they closed it. This was a good ole boys sale. They had the auction open for 5 minutes! Im sure they would have gotten more money for the car had it been left up longer. However who ever's buddy would have had to pay more.....again the tax payers get screwed.
Another reason why we need SBYNEWS!

Someone needs to be fired over this. If the City Council and Mare condone this they need to be fired as well.
view bids link errors out and there is nothing to view

Look at the top of the screen that comes up. It shows how long the auction was for. A 5 minute auction!
This did someone a favor.9:04 is correct, because the expense of repair, which will most likely require a new engine (and who knows what else)will make this CV not worth the effort.
It is a spark pug malfunction. 20 dollar fix.
7:28 AM the only part of your statement that is correct is "this did someone a favor"
If I wanted to sell my friend a gov owned vehicle cheap I would also say it ran like crap and was worthless.
"Sales to Employees. Employees of the Seller may bid on the property listed for auction, so long as they do NOT bid while on duty."
We have had a problem from Salisbury to Baltimore beltway with someone posing as a cop pulling over women to then attack them. I would have a problem with anyone purchasing a used police vehicle. The cars used by law enforcement should have all equipment removed inside and out. I passed a dark CV at a stoplight this morning with all antenna in place but the driver was obviously NOT law enforcement unless he was totally undercover. This just enables more of these problems. Didn't the shooter on the Baltimore beltway use a trunk of a crown vic to kill people? Needless to say....I would NEVER stop for a crown vic unless I pulled into a police station first.
Today in Laurel I saw 3 ex police Crown Vics in used car lots. One was black and the other 2 were white. All looked really good.
Crooked

Since this was a crooked auction, what makes you think there was damage to the motor and if so who wasn't maintaining it.
Don't be stupid all your life you idiot know it all.

It's an admin car and it doesn't run 24/7 you smart ass idiot. If it did run 24/7 it would have way more than the average 195,000 miles on it you moron!! You idiots think you know it all, but you are to stupid to make simple calculations.

Yeah, remember Rick Hoppes' favorite boy from the Salisbury Fire Department. David Cox got arrested for playing cop with a decked out used police car with lights and siren on it. Claimed he had permission to use it because he was a volunteer firefighter in Secretary. He was a person of interest in Wicomico, Sussex and Dorchester Counties. He somehow got out on a technicality and the idiot Hoppes rehired this liability. It's just a matter of time. Just a matter of time.
I work with Tom in the GOB. He is quite the moron..I wouldn't chalk it up to that the auction was rigged but more to that he's just dumb and can't figure out how to run a competent auction.
So admin drove the car to the motor blew up? Total neglect of equiptment charged imdiatelty.
