Alveda King, niece of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., and Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke say Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake may have encouraged rioting that broke out Monday on the streets of that city.
"I've made it very clear that I work with the police and instructed them to do everything that they could to make sure that the protesters were able to exercise their right to free speech," Rawlings-Blake said in a Saturday night press conference.
"It's a very delicate balancing act, because while we tried to make sure that they were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on, we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well."

Why would anyone want to invest there and pay city taxes again, when the mayor can decide to "give" their property over to the thugs instead of protecting them?
Those whose property and businesses were damaged and destroyed by the "protesters" should hold the mayor personally liable for "giving" THEIR space to the thugs "who wished to destroy space."
How about if you give them your OWN property to loot and burn next time?
Baltimore needs a new mayor.
Just listening to her try to talk tells anyone that she is slightly retarded. Then there is her order to allow those who want to destroy space to do it. That clearly shows a illiterate fool!
She was elected in advance of this incident BECAUSE of this incident.Remember,everything is deep anymore and planned to death by the powers that be.All of the players were poised and ready for an incident that would justify riots and unrest.The Gray incident provided the necessary justification.The mayor enabled it to continue as planned.
