Toddler wounds both parents with 1 shot from handgun

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say a 3-year-old boy got ahold of a handgun from his mother's purse and fired just one shot that wounded both his parents.

Albuquerque police say the toddler apparently reached for an iPod but found the loaded weapon.

The bullet first struck his father in the buttock and then hit the shoulder of his mother, who is eight months pregnant. His 2-year-old sister was present but unhurt.

Local media reports say police believe Saturday's shooting was accidental.

No it wasn't accidental! These gang bangers are getting in to young these days! Had a two year old flash a gang sign at Walmart N at me while he asked if I needed anything. Power wheels had 22" rims!

Accidental, no kidding.

Media reports on all of these accidental shootings, they love putting guns in a negative light, yet guns are used to defend innocent people against criminals and this is hardly ever reported!

Good shot! That'll teach the parents not to keep loaded weapons in the reach of their children. (Apparently common sense didn't do the trick)
