We've been a member of Wicomico Yacht Club for 20+ years and the Rileys did nothing to improve the place. They'd walk in loud and obnoxious, already half drunk and stinking of cigarettes, thinking they owned the place. We are glad they stopped attending.

The Chairman of the Board Charles Smith has no business going in the bank every day and wasting employees time. He has a limited education an none as a Banker. Johnson was Johnson, he worked hard steered a good course an enjoyed partying. Sure he is loud and he partied hardy, but this does not have a thing to do with profits.
There were no underhanded deals. The purchase of Plantations by Tawes and Marshall was all above board. Any of us could of purchased this ad received the same loan rate. That has certainly not beed a deal with a windfall profit. If you disagree let's see the records.

Juke Marshall is one of the hardest working smartest guys I ever met. He and his wife bought her father's business and have taken it to a much higher level. With Scott Conway the have started a new business to replace GM sales when they went out of building chicken houses.

I'm not so sure you can call her a whistle blower. Sue's job is the internal auditor. She reports directly to the board. Is seems pretty obvious that Sue must have found one of Greg's "shady deals" that was probably illegal. She had an ethical (and probably even legal) responsibility to report it to the board and let them take action. As so many of you have said, Greg has friends on the board. Have to agree with 1058PM that she was just doing her job. There is nothing Legal about stealing from the Federal Government. If HSB foreclose on 475,000.00 and HSB bought back from 275,000.00 and he let the Board of Directors for 100,000.00....No money down! That's stealing from the Feds. Greg was supposed to be looking out for HSB Bank BEST INTEREST!

I guess you are right 1:41. It seems from reading previous comments thst the Brinsfield theft as well as the theft from two of the officers relatives has been forgotten. As a small stockholder I was never aware of the theft by two of the officers relatives. If anyone knows if this please comment. Why was this never revealed or was it covered up? One thing I have seen here is that more and more is revealed by the day. LOTS of secrets at HSB.

Bank Officers are fiduciaries on behalf of all of the shareholders. Remains unclear how they met that obligation.
In the example quoted looks like they took over a $690K loss (415 + 275) before lending an additional $100K to an insider on an unsecured basis. Perhaps they shuffled the paperwork to come up with more favorable numbers.
But how was any of this to the benefit of the shareholder? And the suggestion has been made that events of this sort were routine.
Since it is a publicly held business, and a bank, an array of regulations cover what is legit and what isn't.
If you're going to use it as a personal piggy bank as an officer might be advisable to follow the rules.

Davis Ruark should have nailed Jimmy Henderson's ass to the wall when had the chance. He had the charges but when you pay for the big A he gets things done.
7:17 post is referring to family members of HSB officers that worked also for HSB. Apparently these individuals stole from.the bank. We never hear about this stuff. I guess family members are exempt from prosecution.

It is truly sad that people that have not benefitted by this insider schemes are called losers. This is corruption plain and simple. The persons responsible are none other than Greg himself because he believed he was above the law. I hope he sings like a bird and brings all of his cronies down with him. This is why we pay outrageous bank fees and receive .01 percent return on our interest bearing account. Everybody should be demanding prosecution for any of those who have benefitted from these illegal schemes.

Oh I believe in karma. Take a look st Davis Ruark, Kristy Hickman, Robert Jones, Mike Phillips, Jimmy Henderson. That is just a few that I have seen get their just desserts. They all thought they were mighty and powerful and above the law. They ALL got what they deserved. Henderson paid the Piper.

I wonder if Greg is getting any legal counsel from his uncle who is a retired Judge. I am sure Greg thinks that everyone is putting this to rest. Lets hope not because there are many people hurt by his corruption.

To be fair,Scott Tawes HAS helped local families get into homes of their own.From what I understand, they are "rent to own" leases which are not always the best option BUT he is financing people who would otherwise not qualify for a mortgage at a lending institution and occupying foreclosed homes that would otherwise sit vacant.Sure,he is not doing it out of pure philanthropy,I am sure the interest is sky-high but thats a given if the buyer has credit issues.He is not the most charming man in the world at all,but he has done good things in the community.
Looks like Scott Tawes can afford to do "good things" when you buy properties for 20% of their value. I wonder what he turned around and sold some of these bargain price properties for?
