Headquarters Live Opened Friday

The newest entertainment bar opened in the old Fire Station 16 in Downtown Salisbury. IT WAS PACKED.

If you attended, what were your thoughts. One person sent in the following: "Ireton getting wasted at HQ tonight. Hugging and cheersing every randomn guy he can".

Looks like a solid venue for smaller acts. Great to have a space like this nearby.

I attended the "soft opening" at Headquarters Live last week. What an outstanding venue. The sound system and the setting are first class and I urge everyone to support this latest addition to the downtown Salisbury scene.
It is places like this that will make any efforts to revitalize downtown a success

Waiting for the first big fight or shooting..

So while 650 real jobs are leaving we are all excited about a minimum wage place that will be one of the mayors new watering holes. I knew electing a teacher would never work out in he end.

First class act.

I have to agree with those who think it's silly to get excited over what amounts to just another bar opening up when 100's of people are going to lose their jobs.

So the world is to stop due to job loss?

Some people are still trying to make money at this rat hole place we call Salisbury. Heck, I would have had specials and free admission for anyone showing a labinal ID, poor guys/gals probably could use a night out.

I think it's absurd for anyone to celebrate anything while someone in the whole world is experiencing poverty, hunger, job loss, loneliness, gender confusion, toenail fungus or bad grades in school.
We should all stay at home and mourn, or find out who those people are and invite them to the party. Those with communicable diseases will be ushered to the tables next to the band.

Mayor Joe, Does it hurt that you lost to a gay man?

Anon 101PM, what would you suggest be done on a Friday night about the situation?

I wish them the best...but... a bar with dancing has never done well in this town. It wont be long before they will have to change to a western theme to keep the doors open.

Well, I know WE had a great time there. No food and no liquor, just beer. That might be an issue but time will tell.

I'm happy to see a new business crop up and I wish them well. Supporting them financially is not on my agenda at this time. I would prefer to support a locally owned grocer or clothier, even a florist but not a bar at this time. Spending must be scrutinized until situations in our household change for the better. Good luck, Gillis and Gilkerson.

Well of course it was packed...free admission. Lets see what happens when they start charging people to get in. But I do wish them the best of luck.

I give it 6 months if that. Sorry to say. map

They will make a bundle off the property if they have to sell. City got screwed by mayor on this deal.

Ireton fiddled....

Sorry 3:30- I don't think a western theme will help keep anything open.

No website?

I won't enter the establishment. Personally, I don't care what they have to offer but IMHO - with the number of sobriety checkpoints, close proximity to the City police station, and, the Town's established ghettos - I am not going to chance it. So I will not be patronizing the old Fire Station.

Attorney's fees for a DUI or DWI - now runs approximately 10k. With so much unemployment - why chance it. Better off to stay at home or go to Dunkin Donuts for a coffee.

6:38,right on.

Not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, I wish them success. On the other, it seems like the elite of Salisbury got a sweetheart deal at taxpayers expense (including those losing jobs) to provide a venue for the rest of Salisbury's elite. Will the thuggery at Brew River move over to this? I hope not, so I guess I'm back to wishing them well. However, if they do well, it better be in the form of helping all of downtown and not just themselves.

Just selling beer? City will make a fortune on the water bill alone!

Fratelli's opened today! Did anybody check it out?

Since you attended why don't you tell us what Ireton was doing?

Did he even acknowledge you or shake your hand?

@11:34, I'm willing to bet that text never happened either.
