Did Ruth Bader Ginsburg have a nap during State of Union?

At an hour long, the State of the Union is a good chance to catch up on some shut-eye.

Or at least Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg thought - because it appears she nodded off during Obama's address on Tuesday night.

Cameras caught the moment that the 81-year-old justice's head dropped just after 10pm as the president neared the end of his speech, which clocked in at 59 minutes and 57 seconds.

Ginsburg, who has been caught snoozing at speeches in the past, was saved by colleagues Stephen Breyer and Anthony Kennedy, who repeatedly tried to keep her awake.

Unreal check her pulse, thus is why a age limit of 70 should be in place or term limits, wonder if she slept through the obama
Obama care vote...?

Just as bad as Jimmy Carter and the rambling nonsense that is coming out of his mouth recently. Whoever is in charge of these senior citizens needs to get a handle on them so they stop this humiliating behaviours.

she needs to be at the old folks home and not sitting on the bench of the supreme court.

She is praying that the next president has a working brain.

Those bashing Ginsburg should be ashamed. Her mind is still sharp, but she is over 80 and has fought serious health issues. Even if you don't agree with her decisions, she still does her homework and makes cogent arguments.

How many of you slammed Ronald Reagan for his naps during important briefings? Or thought he should be limited at 70? Or were bothered to learn his Alzheimer's may have been in motion while he was still in office?

Thought so.

Retirement time?

Hey, it was way past her normal bedtime. Cut her some slack...but I still don't like her, or her opinions on the bench.

night, night, Nanna....

No, let her stay! i pray she makes another 2 years so that when she does retire she'll be replaced by a conservative instead of someone even more liberal than her. i don't think we should have to suffer another sotomayor or kagan or worse...

Ginsburg is old and wise she knows BS when she hears it might as well take a nap than listen to that pathological liar.

1:17-A Supreme Court Justice doesn't nap during a President's State of the Union address-PERIOD!
It's about having class and dignity during a historic event, where protocol is important and doesn't include someone catching up on their sleep.
I don't care what Regan did. That's yesterday's news and serves ZERO purpose to rehash.
If the old bat can't stay awake one night out of the year, she needs to resign and let someone who holds the position and the event, up to the dignified, seriously formality that it merits take over.

Who cares if she is doing her homework and makes cogent arguments. There's a million people who could do the same so that's not even an issue.

Listening to Bammy made me bend down also -- to puke!

I agree. Keep her on the court for just a couple more years. Then we can get someone with sense.
