Dog Found 12-18-14
I found a chocolate lab male on Spring Hill Ln in Hebron. He's neutered. Very sweet. Took him to the humane society but would love to find his owners. Anyway you can help?

You should never take an animal to the humane society. Obviously you know Joe provides a great service here so you should have put the dog up on here first to give it a chance.
Off topic a bit but found this on Delmarva Unleashed. So sad. My heartbreaks for Coconuts family.
"It is with much sadness that we share this post with you. A life cut way to short (one year) in a violent attack. Hug your dogs and extra time this evening.Coconut is a model in the new 2015 Delmarva Unleashed wall calendar, and is our February dog. Our sincere condolence to the family on their loss.
Facebook friends and family.. yesterday our beautiful baby boy Coconut was violently mauled and ripped away from our lives by an "unleashed" Pit Bull on the beach. My wife and i are absolutely heartbroken. Coconut was so innocent, smart, and sweet. He brought so much happiness to our lives. He loved the outdoors especially the beach in Ocean City & Hawaii. Unfortunately we are not around our best friends and loved ones in Maryland to lean on as we are in Hawaii. Coconut was like our child to us and we are going through an empty lowest of lows. Those of you who know my wife Melissa Foxwell please reach out to her with your love and support as she is in much need of it! Thank you so much -Tyler"
4:48. The Humane Society is exactly the place to take a found animal if you don't have the ability to house the dog yourself for a few hours or days until the owner is found. At the Humane Society, the dog will be safe, fed and taken care of until the owner is found.
I saw the son yesterday looking for the dog and saw him come home with the dog yesterday afternoon. He and his dad went and picked it up yesterday afternoon and it is back home. They let it run loose and we all know the dog. Some nosy lady picked it up and when she did it happened to be on its own property. Why can't people mind their own business. It wasn't like the dog was in the road.
Yes he is home. I will never take another dog to the humane society. I brought him home fed him and tried to figure out what to do. The problem was I have three dogs of my own, a toddler and had no where to keep him. I was devastated that I took him to the humane society but had no other option. I've spoken to the owner and he was very grateful.
Can someone explain to me why the Humane Society would not be a good option to take a lost dog until the owner is found? I don't understand some of the comments here.
It was not on his property. I saved that dog from getting hit by a car. I explained to mr Ward where his dog was. It was down by the stable and he told me he lives behind the cemetery. He had no idea why he would run so far from home. He was running in the middle of the road when I saw him. Another car stopped with me as well. So before you go calling me a nosy lady get your facts straight. I was on the phone with mr ward for a good 15 minutes and he had nothing rude to say about picking up his dog! He was grateful I found him and took him to a safe place.
Love how nobody can use their name bashing someone trying to do good for the holidays!
I'm not sure the comments are about the quality of care the dog would get at the humane society. They are very caring people from my experience. I think the issue might be the claim-out fee and boarding costs; the fee is either $50 or $75 plus a charge for every day the dog is there. Understandable but some families might not have the money to reclaim their dogs.

4:48-Presumably they left it at the Humane Society? If so I hope Joe can work his usual magic before it's too late.

I'm pretty sure he lives on that road. I see him often. Was he in a field?
The owners have their dog.

Dogs aren't allowed to run loose, no matter what the father and son think.
