The latest bin, seen above, was posted to the Facebook page of Making Change at Walmart, a union-supported group seeking higher wages for workers at the nation’s largest retailer.
According to the group, this box was placed in an Oklahoma Walmart. Assuming the “3430″ written on the box is the store’s number, then it appears to be for a Walmart Supercenter in Oklahoma City.
On the one hand, it’s always good to see workers looking out for their colleagues, especially during the holiday months that can be particularly tough on those without sufficient resources.
At the same time, Walmart critics will point to the food drive as evidence that the store isn’t paying its own staff enough to afford the basics for a holiday meal.

If Walmart associates are in need of basic supplies that Walmart sells... Why doesn't walmart donate to the cause??!!

This is sad.
This is just a drop in a huge bucket. So many Walmart employees are on at least one form of government assistance or another. Everyone thinks they are getting some kind of great deals by shopping at Walmart but the reality is you are paying for it in other ways.
More of the "stupid American voter" thing going on.
Sorry I have never shopped at Wal-Mart can not stand the place. The concept pushed local stores out of business. Then came the truth on how they treat their employees.
Sad fact is America is in a "ME" mode. No one gives a crap about their neighbors or locals.
Sorry I support local business and I try to eat at locally owned restaurants.
The place was set up for the lazy anyway. Just look around at who shops there. Welfare dollars account for at least 65% of their net. The next thing will be docs and dentist in Wal mart. The place just sucks.
I haven't been in a Walmart in well over 10 years. I do realize to what extend we are paying in welfare benefits to their employees. Walmart played a large role (as well as BigAgri Business) in having the democrats expand the food entitlements. They benefitted 2 fold. They are the largest seller of groceries AND more of their employees then became eligible for the food entitlements which shut the employees up about wanting raises and union talk.
