MSP BERLIN FATAL COLLISION 113 Blades Rd

Incident:Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision
Narrative:Case # 14-msp-039598

On Nov 27th, 2014 at approximately 0300 hours, Troopers were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of 113 S/B south of Blades Road, Snow Hill, Worcester County.

Upon arrival, a Gold Ford Explorer, bearing PA registration, JBD0324, was found in the grassy median with heavy damage and entrapment to the front passenger.

Through investigation, it was found that the driver of the vehicle drove the vehicle off the roadway, striking a tree.

Due to the impact with the tree, the vehicle rotated on to the roof, and then landed on all four tires for its final resting position.

The driver of the vehicle was then projected into the back seat of the vehicle. Seated in the rear passenger area there were also two small children ages 6 and 9.

The front seat passenger identified as Jhoanna Lynn Tabourn b/f 27 yoa of Philadelphia Pennsylvania succumbed to injuries sustained and was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver identified asRobert l. Tabourn Sr b/m 62 yoawas flown to shock trauma Baltimore via helicopter.

The children were initially taken to PRMC and later taken to John Hopkins Medical Center.

Preliminary investigation reveals alcohol may have been a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
