With the cool temps coming there is gonna be a lot of alarm activations.

Um... Can you please explain this one??

Cool temperatures make the bi-metallic strips in many older alarm systems bend to the left instead of the right as they do in hot weather. Most recent alarms systems now use Di-lithium crystals instead of bi-metallic strips so they are not affected by the temperature changes.

Di-lithium crystals, however, must be monitored more closely in freezing temperatures because as temperatures approach Absolute Zero they compensate for the cold by releasing internal heat via sub-nuclear fusion. If the resulting fusion heat is not bled off steadily the crystals have a tendency to enter a "warp" phase in which case the entire alarm system will immediately spin off photons at the speed of light. When this happens everyone in the immediate vicinity must immediately cover their posteriors with their hands and yell, "Beam me up, Scotty!"

I wasn't going to go that deep but dust setting off sensors.etc.. dust getting heated smells like something is burning. Could produce a cake in.

I THINK 1224 was trying to say that the first time heating elements are called on for heat, the dust on them will burn off causing the detectors to go off.

You're probably right but I like the Di-lithium explanation better.
