Just to give you an idea, scientists say we have about 17 floods a year in our area now. They’re predicting more than 200 floods a year by 2045—flooding that will extend further inland, chasing people out of their homes and businesses on a regular basis.

There are a lot of places with crazy tides already. If you still think sea level rise is all hype, I challenge you to visit these flood prone locations and get back to me/us.
Shoot, just go to Annapolis, Havre de Grace, Crisfield or downtown OC and you'll see.
No kidding. Funny how the most vulnerable people, those living on the Eastern Shore are some of the most adamant deniers.

The area is just as flooded and changes just as much as it ever did. The world is not static.
Downtown OC has nothing to do with sea level rise - it's all the development that diverts water from the ground into undersized drains.
Look at the bright side; think of all the new waterfront property being created!
Just so skyline drive will still be open.

Nevada was underwater at one time, too. All parts of the globe were underwater at one time or another. It will happen here again, too, just give it 10 or 20 million years.
this is so stupid, even to discuss. research the "flooding history" for ALL these locations; including Salisbury and more.
