Local Media Finally Gets On Board With Lawsuits

Although it has taken almost a WEEK, the Daily Times AND WBOC have finally come forward today with the newest lawsuit filed against the City of Salisbury and one particular Police Officer.

I don't care who you are, I was targeted as anti police simply because WE exposed the news well ahead of the rest of the press. I never published ANYTHING that wasn't OFFICIAL and documented in the court system.

The mere fact that the Daily Times and WBOC finally received enough pressure to publish something proves that Salisbury News is Delmarva's news leader.

It does make you wonder, why has WBOC remained silent with the Gift Card spending with the BOE and expenses from the County Executives Office.

Your local media is quickly learning they have not only lost the TRUST of their viewers, they have also lost ALL of the ground they held for decades while one Blog has completely taken over.

Salisbury News is delivering FACTUAL information that is documented. Our traffic, (especially locally) is second to NONE. I think it's time we make the next major move which will hurt them the hardest, financially. Will it be drones, advertising, live video, only time will tell. Nevertheless, we're working on it because we've cornered the market.

We ARE Delmarva's news leader and quite frankly we're sick and tired of them making money off our hard work.

The WBOE doesn't have to justify anything to the public, only to the Governor. It doesn't have to justify anything to the County Council or to the County Executive, only to the Governor. When the WBOE budget comes before the County Council, the Council is powerless to adjust it - it can only be added to, not reduced. The County Council could, conceivably, refuse to pass the WBOE budget, but that would only create a local political storm and they'd eventually cave in just to stop it.
What we have here is a County Council that is powerless to do anything but channel money into the WBOE. Why do you think that the WBOE members are appointed instead of elected? So that Annapolis can control them and local residents can't.
'Nuff said?

Without trying to insult you, or to take the time to look up the facts, reading your comment seems to be contradictable to me.

If city council cannot 'adjust' the budget, but can deny its' approval, wouldn't it be simpler just to be allowed to adjust it?

Like I said, I didn't take the time to look it up, and we all know common sense and efficiency are NOT strong points for any government agency, but still, it just does not seem right to me.

Can anyone elaborate?
