BARRACK “E” SALISBURY
2765 N. SALISBURY BLVD.
SALISBURY, MD. 21801
410-749-3101
DATE & TIME: October 1, 2014 1140 hrs
LOCATION: S/B Salisbury Bypass @ W/B U.S. Rt. 50 Business Exit
CRIME: Strong Arm Robbery/ Assault
Suspect: Unknown - description below
BRIEF RESUME:
On October 1, 2014 at about 11:40 a.m., the Maryland State Police responded to a report of an assault that occurred on the Salisbury Bypass. Troopers learned the victim was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for head, neck, and other bodily injuries.
At PRMC, troopers met with the victim and learned that the 61-year-old victim was on the Salisbury Bypass when she was pulled over by a dark colored unmarked vehicle with emergency lights in the dash that she thought was a police vehicle. A man walked up to the victim’s window and immediately began assaulting her. The victim stated she was robbed during the assault.
The victim described the suspect as an African American male, about 5'9" tall, in his mid-40's, wearing a darker colored blue shirt and matching pants. The suspect is believed to have been impersonating a police officer. Anyone with any information on the above listed event is asked to call the Maryland State Police Barrack at 410-749-3101 or the Wicomico County Bureau of Investigations at 410-548-4898.
Motorists are reminded that if they are unsure a vehicle with flashing emergency lights is actually a police vehicle, they should proceed within the speed limit to a public area, such as a convenience store parking lot, where there are other people and potentially surveillance cameras. If possible, call 911 and report your location and concerns. Communication can then be made with local police departments to verify if the unit attempting to stop you is an actual police officer.
If stopped and approached by a person you do not believe is a police officer, lock your doors and do not lower your window further than a crack. Request that the individual show you a badge and a photo ID card. If you are still suspicious, you can also request the officer request an officer in uniform respond to your location.

This is why you never pull over for an unmarked car!
So who do you call if you hate the police?
Sounds like the same guy in Seaford on Labor Day.
I think I saw this vehicle. At least I think it was the same vehicle. He was coming from the direction of the bypass and was on Log Cabin Road headed away from Salisbury. Windows tinted ...no wheel covers...solid black. At first I thought it was police and then I decided it was a little to rough looking for a police car.
But notice they NEVER say that 9:11.They say everything BUT that.
I would never pull over for an unmarked car unless I was in a well lite parking lot of a store and had called 911 to check ID.
Could be a disgruntled cop , representing the Ferguson issues or maybe he's a muslim looking for a decent head , or maybe just another African American black person of color.
Arent there live traffic cams on certain parts of the bypass/Rt 50 they could perhaps see the perpetrator's car and possibly get a tag#?

What a thoughtful statement. Next time keep your drivel to yourself.
I wouldn't be so sure about this being an impersonation case. It sounds like a real cop to me.
This is total bullsh!t. This poor woman. To be honest I would have pulled over too. Now that this has happened I would call 911 first to verify he was a cop and then pull over at a gas station. Someone had to see this since this happened in broad daylight on the bypass. Saying prayers for this woman that was a victim. I hope they catch this piece of sh!t.
I would have pulled over too. What happens when I don't? they will charge me with evading or some such BS, no doubt. Cant trust anyone. Marked car or not.
Please someone try the suggestions at the end of the press release, when you make bail get back to us. Evading and eluding, talking on cell while driving, resisting arrest, etc, etc.

Actually I thought it was. Who are you to tell someone what to do on here?
Is it that David guy from the Salisbury Fire Department that got arrested several years ago for impersonating a police officer. The description sounds just like him.
What would happen if someone shot him dead during one of his "traffic stops"?
Did anyone stop to think if this is a true or possibly fabricated story?
Yup 10:39. She probably blew the rent money at the casinso and had to come up with some excuse. Did MSP check to see if she's been there lately?
This is a GREAT example of why you shouldn't think you need a cop's PERMISSION (I'm talking to YOU, Mike Lewis) to carry a gun.
The CONSTITUTION says I can "bear arms".
And I do.
Good thing he didn't pull me over.
Or any of the other hundreds of people with a .38, or a .45, or a .357 under their seat.
