Judge declares a mistrial in the case of a police officer who shot dead a seven-year old-girl during bungled police raid for a murder suspect

A trial against a Detroit police officer accused of shooting dead a seven-year-old girl ended in a mistrial after the jury became 'hopelessly deadlocked.'

The jurors were unable to reach a verdict in the case against Officer Joseph Weekley who was accused of shooting Aiyana Stanley-Jones during a raid on a house for a murder suspect in Detroit.

Judge Cynthia Gray Hathaway declared a mistrial in the case for the second time after the first trial ended in a hung jury in June 2013.

Another night time raid and another dead innocent child. Any surveillance conducted to confirm he was inside?

Who ever it was that determined that night time heavily armed raids was a smart idea for police agencies was a moron.

Thank God!!

It was a white cop and they were headhunting. If it was a black cop nothing would have been done.

It's a shame that cops can't do their jobs these days.

I've been on a jury before. There are no easy decisions to be made on a fellow human being, even the lowest of human life forms, who I had to find innocent.
