Fallen Firefighters Honored At National Ceremony

EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) -- More than 100 names of firefighters who were killed in the line of duty have been added to the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Maryland.

Among the 107 firefighters honored were 19 Arizona firefighters killed in a 2013 canyon fire and 10 first responders killed in a fertilizer plant explosion in Texas last year. Ninety-eight of the firefighters honored died in 2013. Nine died in previous years.

Two Maryland firefighters were honored at a national memorial ceremony for fallen firefighters in Emmitsburg.

Why the pomp and circumsatnce ? Well beause these people were public servants. We have all forgotten about those who serve.

Joe I heard the F.O.P. now represents the Salisbury Univeristy Police in collective bargaining. Is that true? I also hear they about a week away from going public they are going to push for Salisbury City Police to get collective bargaining. It looks like a trend. Can you get the facts and let me know.
