Camden, DE – Troopers are investigating a marijuana grow operation after information was received through an anonymous tip about the location of the plants.
Troopers responded to a wooded area east of Almshouse Road and south of Westville Road around 5:45 p.m. Monday and discovered 855 marijuana plants weighing approximately 380 lbs. growing in an area where trees had been cut and cleared. An irrigation system was set up by the unknown suspects who utilized a gas powered generator connected to a pump in order to draw water from a nearby stream. Troopers also located tools such as shovels, hoes, a machete, and a pick axe along with two tents, sleeping bags and several articles of men’s clothing.
