Tool Can Plug Gunshot Wounds In Seconds

You can find many things in Williams-Sonoma, the kitchenware retailer.

Cookie sheets. Spatulas. And, oh yeah, an idea for treating gunshot wounds.

At least, that's what RevMedx found.

The U.S. military had asked the medical technology company to come up with a solution for stopping gunshot and shrapnel wounds from bleeding out. The working idea was a medical version of Fix-a-Flat, the foam you squirt in punctured tires to plug up a hole. (Perhaps the military had been browsing at Pep Boys.)

Instead, it was a sponge that solved the problem, says Andrew Barofsky, RevMedx's CEO.

I always carried around a tube full of Alum.It sealed and constricted a gunshot wound and can be purchased in the seasoning aisle in most stores.Probably not as good as this stuff is though.

We may be needing a whole lot of these in the near future. Stock up, folks.

Tampons work also. Just stick the plastic applicator inside the hole, and push out the cotton tampon inside it, it stops the bleeding out of the wound and they are relatively sterile. Saved my female partners life with this trick.

Does Rite-Aid have them?
