Once again,they need a traffic light there!
Um, 5:20, I am unaware of any intersections between Royal Farms and the Bypass merge. Why would you want a traffic light where there is no intersection?
Um, 6:29 p.m., I don't see where 5:20 p.m. mentioned an "intersection".
The turn lanes need to be removed - no turns at Royal Farms from 50 east. Go up to next exit and do a u turn to get to RF.
There was a lot of discussion about traffic issues when this site was under review and up for approval.
There is far too much going on in a small space, and when it's busy a driver cannot check all of the traffic coming at them before moving into the intersection.
Traffic going east could exit on Bus 50 and turn at the light to come back on the flyover going west. Suppose it's a bit more tan a mile total.
Going back east would require merging onto 50 west and getting to the left lane pretty quickly to U turn; traffic is moving pretty quickly when you merge.
In the mix whether any changes are made is that a great many tourist motorists are unfamiliar with the intersection thus increasing the odds of continuing heartbreak.

If they are unfamiliar and do not want to turn there, they can just continue on until there is a place they do feel comfortable with. It is not busy at all to make turns or merge. It is impatience that causes these accidents. If not, they would already do what you describe.
Stopped at that Royal Farms once in the summer and decided never again because it is so hard to get back on the road safely.

WOW!!! 9:59AM If you travel that area much you would know that there is alway an accident!! There !And because someone doesn't want to stop some where because they feel it unsafe doesn't mean they need driving lessons!LOL
