TASK FORCE DISRUPTS SIGNIFICANT DRUG DISTRIBUTION NETWORK ON EASTERN SHORE

(CENTREVILLE, MD) – A combined local, state and federal law enforcement partnership has led to the disruption of a cocaine distribution network operating throughout the Upper Eastern Shore and the arrests of two dozen suspects.

Police believe three suspects were involved in directing the operation. The first suspect is identified as Adrian L. Reed, aka “Slick,” 37, of the 2200-block of Pondtown Road, Chestertown, Md. He was arrested May 12, 2014 and charged on a 35 count indictment of drug related charges including conspiring to import cocaine into the state, conspiring to distribute cocaine, conspiring to possess cocaine, conspiring to manufacture cocaine, and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. He is currently being held on $250,000 bond.

The second suspect is identified as Baraka Z. Chauka, aka “Rock,” 37, of the 1400-block of Barclay Road, Barclay, Md. He was arrested May 19, 2014 and charged on a multiple count indictment of drug related charges including conspiring to import cocaine into the state, conspiring to possess cocaine, conspiring to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. He is currently being held on $100,000 bond.

The third suspect is identified as Carlos J. Cain, aka “Cain,” 40, of the 100-block of Washington Street, Centreville, Md. He was arrested May 8, 2014 and charged on an indictment with conspiring to import cocaine into the state, conspiring to possess cocaine, and conspiring to distribute cocaine. He is currently being held on $100,000 bond.

The more than six month investigation began in the fall of 2013 when the Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force, the Maryland State Police, the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office, and the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations, began an intense investigation of a cocaine distribution ring operating in Queen Anne’s County. During the investigation, it was learned the three suspects listed above were importing large amounts of powder and crack cocaine from Delaware and Pennsylvania into Queen Anne’s County.

Investigators believe they were importing and distributing more than three pounds of cocaine within a two month period. They were then using a network of distributors to sell the cocaine in Queen Anne’s, Kent, and Caroline counties.

During the ensuing investigation, police served 18 search warrants in Maryland and two in Delaware. Police obtained felony indictments on 14 persons, including the three listed above. In addition, police made six on-view felony arrests and four on-view misdemeanor arrests. They recovered more than $14,000 in drug related money and eight vehicles believed to be involved in, or the fruits of, the drug operation. Police recovered various amounts of marijuana, powdered and crack cocaine, and heroin.

The Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force is comprised of members of the Maryland State Police, The Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office, the Queen Anne’s County Office of the State’s Attorney, the Centreville Police Department and the Maryland Natural Resources Police, with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations.

Investigations like this one highlight the multi-jurisdictional nature of drug crimes and how the close working relationship between the Maryland State Police, the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations and numerous allied law enforcement partners both in and out of Maryland, are helping stem the flow of illegal drugs coming into Queen Anne’s County.

Oh, come on. 'Importing from De and Pa? BIg whoop. Where did De and Pa get the stuff? And a WHOLE 3 lbs at that. Why would this even make the news? Because Homeland Security was involved?

Homeland. Heil.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. How come those top law enforcement heroes didn't stop it before it got to the other states?

How much coke and cash did not make it to the evidence table? Were these guys in competition with the cops running their own drug ring?

Well at least these clowns were busy with these dealers and not harassing citizens for a change...but tomorrow is another day.

They will have a little bit more swagger in their step when they walk up to your car to write you a ticket for driving down the highway.

Rah, rah, RAH

Speaking of drugs, how many people in pain management go to Dr. Dayton Jones office? Does anyone else find most of the staff rude, condescending, inattentive, don't listen, know-it-alls who have less time in medicine than we have been in pain?

Or is it just me? But they are not alone. Most pain management places are similar. They often blame it on the DEA, but I think that is just a convenient excuse for their non-caring unprofessional attitudes.

It's all about the dollar and the hell with patient care. But then again, that is the norm on the good ole shore, isn't it?

I guess I am going to have to be like so many others and go across the bay for QUALITY healthcare, compassion and professionals.

Damn shame we are thrown to the wolves while they collect their paychecks from our pain, and don't even give us a reach around.

You guys are so predictable. But then you don't have much in the of an I.Q. so no surprise there that you have no creativity. And that goes for you too 602.

If either of you had an original thought, it would blow your head wide open.

NEWSFLASH: Not everyone in this country has been a victim of yours....yet. And if they had, so what? You think that makes them less of a person or something?

If that were the case, all cops would be lower than whale poop...oh wait, you already are. My bad.

Now go to your next roll call so they can tell you what to think and how to act. You wouldn't know otherwise. Even your dumb dog is smarter than you.

When is your reunion at Wor-Wic? It's not our fault you were not smart enough to be a fire fighter and had to settle being a cop.

You got a lot of nerve trying to talk smack with the multiple reports of illegal behavior by cops EACH AND EVERY DAY.

Maybe you guys lost your dealer. Or maybe you simply got rid of your competition.

The bigger/up higher drug dealers on the food chain of drug distribution are protected by upper management law enforcement. Nothing against them will stick or come down unless they've not paid their way or crossed the wrong guy. The biggest of the big inside US borders are even mentioned because politicians/judges and other greedy lackies/underlings get their cut. Talk to a State policeman deep into drug enforcement that you know won't lie to you. His words will dance but his truth will reflect my comment. To many pockets getting filled, drugs drive the legal/penal system. They can't be stopped because greed is entrenched. What this story is really about is Show & Tell, intended to be an appeasement for the masses wanting bang for their wasted war on drugs buck. Not that those in law enforcement are not trying, but the ones that they really should take down are too wealthy, to protected, many well known. Anyone that tries to reveal their truth will suffer, or their family will suffer and forever be disrupted. Corruption thirsts for power and greed, it's unstoppable.

Bravo, law enforcement!

But will diminishing the product decrease the demand and prevent others from stepping up to provide?

you FOOLS actually BELIEVE that nobody dislikes or hates you unless they have been arrested or a CONVICT. Talk about delusions of grandeur. You guys are ate up with it.

Your self worth and self image is NOT that important to most people, only to your twisted sense of self-importance.

The way you see yourselves and the way others see you are totally different. It is for most, if not all, people.

That may be part of the problem with your bad interactions with the public at large. In all seriousness, you need a reality check.

We have been bombarded for quite some time of VIDEO of your outrageous, immoral, illegal and INTOLERABLE actions.

We didn't do them, we didn't stage these events, we RECORDED YOU COMMITTING THEM.

And if someone speaks out about them, and YOU, they must be a convict?! What the heck is wrong with your collective heads?

You are just not reasonable. Your thinking is not reasonable. You actions are most certainly NOT REASONABLE.

And it's not just one or two or three of you that acts and thinks this way. It goes much deeper and very widespread. It is in the culture of law enforcement. You have been trained to think and act that way.

So some higher up, somewhere, has a master plan and all of you are a part of it, whether you realize it or not.

I can't believe even cops are that dumb not to recognize that. But you either ignore it or go along with it.

It has officially become 'us' vs 'them'.

Look at the facts and recent happenings in contact with police. It seems almost every encounter with police results in a beating or a death. Of people and animals.

It is too widespread and happens too frequently to be a 'couple of bad apples'. Most, if not all, of the apples are bad.

When a 'good cop' arrests a 'bad cop/apple', then I will believe good cops exist.

So far I have not seen one. Convict or not, the facts do not lie.

BUT COPS DO...FREQUENTLY.

2:15PM I don't agree with you, My husband is in chronic pain and goes to pain management and we think they are great, they are always polite and work with you trying to help and even joke with you. It all depends on how you treat people how your going to be treated. What you give out you get back. I guess there are always a few in the bunch right?

and that is the typical eastern shore hillbilly attitude that they are talking about. little digs, passive/aggressive behavior that you have displayed as well as doctors and nurses.

you may accept it but there are those of us who do not. we don't lower the bar of standards just because they may joke with us. we expect competent quality care. not the vo tech level displayed here.

good luck to you. you need it but don't even realize it.

TO THE LAW HATER: Have you ever been a parent of a drug addict? Do you want to walk in a parents shoes for just one day? Will today be the day they DIE from an overdose? Will today be the day they break the law to feed their habit? Do you want to watch them crumble away white and pasty and lose their identity? Your heart breaks on a daily basis. Thank you to the Drug Enforcement Task Team! Any amount taken off the street is a victory and hopefully saves a life!
