Some of the people commenting on here have given many years of service to their community. Personally, I gave 15 years of fire fighting service to my community. Sounds like you might be one of those excreting the big red truck for lunch and dinner runs.
If it wasn't for those "worthless lives" you lazy asses wouldn't have a job! Calling someone spineless while leaving an anonymous comment is just priceless!
I agree with 1:16. Must be just wonderful to have a job where you get to save peoples lives and at the same time endure a small segment of the population who meet routinely on blogs and spew about how worthless they think you are.

No one is jealous-okay-you got it. What has occurred is that certain media outlet have become watch dogs for wasteful government spending which equates to stealing. Those who defend and participate are nothing but common thieves, nothing brave about you-you got it. There is an ass for ever seat and many more "brave" souls who are honest and wouldn't dream of stealing from tax payers. I know several who were raised with character who wouldn't dream of even taking a free cup of coffee from a convenience store when it is offered to them while in uniform.
And as is typical with you people when you can't defend something you attack the messengers. You my dear are the "spineless" one.

I don't have an issue with having paid fire firefighters on duty. What I take issue with is wasteful spending of money. Was the fire boat a necessity? NO. Is driving around town in the big fire truck a necessity? NO. What you can't stand is the truth thrown in your face repeatedly and making you be accountable for your own actions and wasteful spending. As a taxpayer it's nice to know that just because I read a blog you consider my life worthless. So why don't you do all of worthless humans a favor and be gone. It's obvious you are in fact in the wrong line of work. Let someone who needs and wants the job to be there.

Most paid firemen are Democrats who joined the union that paid for Obama's election and re-election. I would be ashamed if I joined the IAFF. Should be the IALL, the International Association of Lifelong Losers.
I think the problem is that the people participating don't view this as actual theft. That tells me the problem is so deeply ingrained, institutionalized and accepted that its an everyone else is doing it mentality.
So aside from pointing this out how are we spineless? Do we need to actually hold you down and beat it into you or should you know this as a fully developed adult? Probably the latter. Which goes to show you how many people just don't think about what they do. They just follow the crowd.

So if the company goes out of service for lunch, dinner, inspections and any other non emergency because the members drive their pov for these activities how long will it take before someone is complaining about the delay in response time or delivery in service?

Must be a paid fireman. All volunteer stations are on called so there is some "delay" expected. By the way the volunteers beat the paid fireman to the call many times.

Are you saying that TRAINED and PROFESSIONAL firefighters, always on hand, are many times LATE, behind other firefighters who must leave work, home, or other circumstances JUST TO GET TO THE STATION? I'm calling BS on that one.
