Chipotle pleads with customers to leave firearms outside

Fast-food chain Chipotle has asked its customers not to bring firearms into its stores after it says gun rights advocates brought assault rifles into one of its restaurants in Texas.

The Denver-based organisation has said it traditionally complied with local laws regarding open and concealed firearms.

But in a statement yesterday, the company said 'the display of firearms in our restaurants has now created an environment that is potentially intimidating or uncomfortable for many of our customers.'

Texas is an open carry state. If they hated gun owners so much then I would suggest the move out of state. I would also suggest gun owners boycott their business. I will not be spending another penny in that place.

I am offended they are trying to trample on our good given rights and the Second Amendment.

Can you believe that a couple people have recently gone into the store with guns!!!! They even relieved the cash register of it's money. The nerve of some people not reading the no weapons signs. What is this world coming to!

I agree that being open carry and being able to take your weapon with you is important. Self protection is always number 1. But is it necessary for people to go to chipotle wearing these in a sling like that? I am judging a book by its cover here, but the picture of those two men makes them look like young, naive morons who have guns just to have them and use them as a status symbol, or because "The gov'ment cain't take mah guns. 'MURICA"

I would have a perfect right to shoot anyone in this establishment who was carrying a gun like those in the photo.Shooting someone doesn't bother me in the slightest if I consider them a threat. Now does it make sense to you?Who would you choose to defend if those who chose to carry weapons into a place of business were shot dead in their tracks?

I'm for support of open carry WITH common sense, something these two neck beards seem to be lacking

Do you need to shoot your burrito?

If you support the right to bear arms you must also respect the property owners rights and not bring your rifle into to his/her store when requested! The store in not “commons”

Part of responsible gun ownership is recognizing that others do not necessarily share you view point. Just like many people on this site do not like alternative lifestyles constantly thrown in their face similarly non-gun owners should not have to have our 2nd amendment thrown into theirs.I see this as irresponsible and rude.

To deny that guns frighten some people who are not used to them is simply lying to yourself. Be respectful and don't come strapped for combot.

These two are dip$hits simply trying to get a response and it hurts the 2nd amendment supports cause.

Just be like the gang members and paint the barrels tips orange and pretend they are airsoft guns. The morons behind the counter will never know.

And I also respect the customers right not to patronize such businesses.

I was in Chipotle today right before all the fire, pd, sheriffs and emt's left. The parking lot was jammed from the bevy of city and county taxpayer bought vehicles... parked at CVS.

It was a gun bonanza.

During my meal one sat in front of me. I wondered if I was safer or not... being that close to him in a shoot out....I am guessin not.

Must pick better seat next time

If these two were people of color the comments would be different.

8:27, The comments would be different because the police would have been called and the two "of color" would have been shot upon arrival.

I have to agree that these two idiots are actually working to destroy our 2A rights by their behavior.

Casually carrying a personal everybody needs to be polite around me handgun on a belt is what this is all about.

These dudes are doing the scare tactic thing, and need to go back home.

I too support the 2nd amendment!
This is our insurance policy that we can pass down to the next generation(s)
I agree whole heartedly with your comment..

I agree with Chipotle on this. I don't mind people bringing small pistols or something that is for protection, but this idiots brings an assault rifle in. What need would you have for it in a restaurant.

Chipolte can go back to California where they came from...I will not eat at a place that violates my Constitutional Rights even though I do not own a gun.. stuff your Burrito where the Sun does not Shine

Texas is a mental waste land.

Sorry, 4:06, but you can't stop crazy with more gun laws. Note that this guy used a knife to kill his first 3 victims.

All your laws do is disarm innocent people who want to protect themselves and their families from lunatics like this guy. Um - defend that.
