STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO REPAIR GUARDRAIL ON MD 90 WEST OF OCEAN CITY

Eastbound MD 90 Closes Tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

(May 28, 2014) – Beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 29th, the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will close the eastbound lane of MD 90 (Ocean City Expressway) between MD 589 (Racetrack Road) and St. Martins Neck Road for guardrail repair. The guardrail replacement will occur immediately west of the bridge between Ocean City and St. Martins Neck. The work will be complete by 3 p.m., weather permitting. Motorists traveling on MD 90 westbound from Ocean City will not be impacted.

Eastbound MD 90 motorists will be directed to MD 589 to eastbound US 50 into Ocean City. The guardrail repair is expected to cost about $5,000.

While SHA and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Safer driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!

I wonder if whoever hit the guardrail has to pay for it...it looked like a nasty hit. Hope nobody was seriously hurt.

They should make them pay for it. That whole section of guard rail on Rt 90 was replaced less than 5 years ago.
