SNOW HILL — A former town Code Enforcement Office has filed suit against the Mayor and Council of Snow Hill and Mayor John “Charlie” Dorman specifically alleging he was wrongfully terminated after allegedly going against the mayor’s wishes and refusing to sign off on a building with a collapsing roof.
Former Snow Hill Code Enforcement Officer Thomas Gorman and his wife, through Salisbury-based attorney Robin Cockey, last week filed suit in Worcester County Circuit Court against the Mayor and Council and Dorman. The suit is seeking a combined $150,000 in damages, including $75,000 in compensatory damages and $75,000 in punitive damages.
The suit was filed in response to Gorman’s discharge in October 2012. The civil suit alleges Gorman was canned after not playing along with the mayor’s ambitious redevelopment plans for the downtown area, and more specifically for refusing to sign off on a certificate of occupancy for a dilapidated building with a partially collapsing roof.

Let me guess that Dorman is a democrat.
Don't step on the feet that are connected to the butt you may need to kiss!
Public safety is public safety. Building occupation standards were created from past mistakes that cost lives. For him to kiss the mayor's butt for the almighty dollar and then to have the worst happen to the tenant would open him up to a life changing lawsuit and the exit of his financial life's savings & retirement.
There was never any other choice.
Coming soon-Salisbury!
443, a democrat would have "played along". A real upstanding human being would have done what he did.
Eat that.

Another taxpayer settlement coming up because of inept 'publc' servants. If they lose, make them pay whatever is awarded. Maybe then these slugs will do their job correctly.
Whatever became of the lore chambers case in Wicomico county?
I have a good case against the Mayor of Salisbury. I wonder if Robin Cockey would take that case for me?
Check the court filings.
Not that it matters but Dorman is a republican just like the rest of the inner circle of folks who run the Town. This is not the first employee who fell victim to Charlie's rule of terror. The ex- police chief, the former Asst. Public Works Director, the former Grant Administrator were all wrongfully terminated because they fell out of favor of the omnipotent Charlie Dorman. All were excellent employee's who did their jobs and did them well. In the meantime, Mr. Dorman has used absentee ballot election fraud to get elected. The Town Manager is under qualified but does all of Dorman's dirty work by making up bogus evidence of employee insubordination when asked to get rid of someone on Charlie's short list.
