911 Center Safety Open House

Location: Sussex County Emergency Operations Center, 21911 Rudder Lane, Georgetown, DE

Georgetown, DE- Delaware State Police Sussex Communication Section along with the Fire and Ambulance Callboard of Sussex County will be hosting their 15th Annual 911 Open House Thursday May 8, 2014. The Open House will take place at the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center located at 21911 Rudder Lane, Georgetown Delaware. The safety event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Approximately 500 children from the local school districts are expected to visit the 911 center on this day. They will be given a tour of the 911 center and students will learn important safety tips on How and When to contact 911.

To promote public safety, the following demonstrations, displays, and activities will be available to the public: “Kick Butts” Anti-Smoking Campaign provided by American Lung Association, Blades Fire Company’s Fire Safety House, and McGruff the Crime Dog. Various units from the Delaware State Police, Local Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services will also be on display. This will provide hands on education for the students.
