The Arizona legislature sent a bill to the Gov. Jan Brewer’s desk Thursday that would carve a massive hole into state law allowing business owners to turn away gay and lesbian customers, employers to deny equal pay to women, or individuals to renege on contract obligations–as long as they claim to be doing so in the name of religion.
Brewer, a Republican who vetoed similar legislation last year, has not said whether she will sign the bill. Ann Dockendorff, a spokesperson for the governor’s office, said in a statement that “It is the governor’s policy to not comment on legislation until she’s had a chance to review it. Monday would be the earliest she would take action, assuming it’s transmitted by the Senate by then. She’ll have five days to act once she receives it.”

Denying service is different than equal pay and reneging on contracts......regardless of religion....while I do agree that folks should not be 'required to provide services against their religious beliefs', tying these things together makes it a problem!
"Allowing discrimination" is a bit... harsh?
What about the discrimination against the religious beliefs of individuals?
You know... like forcing Christian Owners to supply birth control... or Christians to support gay marriage?
Why is "Gay Rights" more important than Christian Rights?
Now... It can most definitely be argued that Jesus hung out with sinners (You know... like that Mary Magdelain) and good Christians should too... but not everyone wants too - and by every right no one should be forced to.
As a Marine, I served to give the rights of those I disagree with the ability to be heard. It's a damn shame that those individuals are now forcing others to be silent.
Institutionalized Discrimination is the correct term for these backwards laws. Whats next? Denying service to someone of a different faith or the way they look? We might as well go back to Jim Crowmif that is the case.

In the '60 states in the south would have loved to have used a law just like this to deny blacks services. Many claimed it was against their religion to allows mixing of the races.

I think this is great.All business should have the right to refuse homosexuals. Being a homosexual has nothing to do with civil rights it nothing more then sick perverted sex. There is nothing normal about being a homosexual it not about love and it is not about family. If god had wanted 2 men or 2 women to be together if would have made it possible for them to have kids without going outside out of their gayness. Homosexuals are very intolerant of others and don't have a conscious and anytime you are in disagreement with their sick lifestyle they attack you.
