Incident: Assault
Date of Incident: 1 November 2013
Location: 800 block of Seminole Boulevard, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Kashawn J. Booker, 20, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 1 November 2013 at 9:55 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 800 block of Seminole Boulevard in Salisbury for a reported domestic related altercation. The deputy learned that an altercation ensued between Kashawn Booker and a female that escalated to a physical assault when Booker reportedly punched the female in the face. During the investigation, the deputy observed signs of injury on the female that corroborated her account.  The deputy placed Booker under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Booker in the Detention Center in lieu of $30,000.00 bond.

Incident: Possession of Heroin
Date of Incident: 2 November 2013
Location: U.S. Rt. 13, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Luther Lashawn Brothers, 33, Chesapeake, VA
Narrative: On 2 November 2013 at 11:41 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle in which Luther Brothers of Chesapeake, VA was a passenger, for speeding on U.S. 13. During the ensuing encounter with Brothers and the driver of the vehicle, the deputy observed indicators that suggested the pair was possibly involved in illicit activity. During a pat down of Brothers, the deputy detected what was easily identified as a brick of heroin in the pants pocket of Brothers.  The deputy recovered the heroin and would subsequently weigh it at just over 40 grams. Based on the amount recovered, the deputy surmised it was intended for future distribution or sale.  The deputy placed Brothers under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Brothers in the Detention Center in lieu of $750,000.00 bond.

Incident: Burglary
Date of Incident: 1 November 2013
Location: 600 block of Gunby Road, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: 1. Male Juvenile, 17, Salisbury, MD
               2. Male Juvenile, 17, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 1 November 2013 at 9:26 AM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported residential burglary that had just occurred. The homeowner had just come home to find the rear door kicked in. Further examination led to the discovery of a laptop computer, cash and two long guns missing from the residence. Two juvenile subjects were observed in the area but they attempted to run away when the homeowner inquired as to what they were up to. Responding deputies managed to locate both, one of them with the help of a K9. Upon apprehension, one was discovered to have the stolen laptop in his backpack while the other had the stolen cash in his backpack. One of the juveniles led the deputies to where they had hidden the stolen firearms.  Both juveniles were arrested and transported to the Sheriff’s Office pending the notification of the Department of Juvenile Services. After a review of the case, the Department of Juvenile Services placed both juveniles on electronic monitoring and released them to their parents.

Incident: Assault
Date of Incident: 1 November 2013
Location: 28000 block of Ocean Gateway, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Emily Jean Derbyshire, 31, Hebron, MD
Narrative: On 1 November 2013 at 2:10 PM, a deputy arrested Emily Derbyshire in connection with an assault that had taken place the week prior. In this incident, Derbyshire allegedly began assaulting another female while they were inside a vehicle after an argument ensued over text messages that Derbyshire had sent to this other female’s boyfriend. During this incident, Derbyshire reportedly kept the vehicle doors locked in an attempt to prevent the female from being able to get out of the vehicle.  Upon arrest, the deputy transported Derbyshire to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the district Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner released Derbyshire on Personal Recognizance.

  • On 1 November 2013 at 10:53 deputies stopped a vehicle operated by Stephen Drummond and arrested him on an outstanding arrest warrant that had been issued for possession of Marijuana. Search of Drummond post arrest revealed two baggies of marijuana in his pants pocket. Drummond was released by the District Court Commissioner upon presentation on the arrest warrant. Drummond was issued a Criminal Citation for the possession of marijuana stemming from this stop.

  • On 1 November 2013 a deputy arrested Netisha D. Black on an outstanding Circuit Court Body Attachment that was issued in a Child Support case. Black was detained in the Detention Center in lieu of $10,000.00 bond.
