In a release issued late Monday, the Cincinnati-based chain says it will open its doors at 8 p.m. on that day.
The move comes as the chain faces growing pressure from other stores. Over the past few years, rivals have gotten a jump on the official start of the holiday shopping season by opening their doors increasingly earlier on Thanksgiving.

An insult to their employees, like all other retailers, sending a loud and clear message, that they do not care about you.
People make the choice to work in retail. Gas stations/Wawa/fast food places are open on holidays. If you don't agree with these businesses being open, then don't shop there on the holidays.

Yes it is a choice. When is it not a choice? I know people that work in retail/restaurants and they have made the decision to pursue that career path. Each one of them has the ability/skill set to work in other professions. Furthermore, I do not shop on black friday, participate in Halloween/ Valentines day/etc. and have not been to a movie theater since 1994. Gas is a necessity? You must not have a 500 gallon tank of gas and the same of diesel on your property as I do. My post is simply that if you do not agree with a business being open, then don't do business with them!
7:54, your words fall on deaf ears.. Most shoppers will go anywhere they think they will get a bargain. However, MACY's has worn out their credibility, their everyday price is 10% to 70% off the marked price. Barnum was right:
