GUESS HOW THE WHITE HOUSE IS DEFENDING SNOOPING ON AMERICANS’ PHONE RECORDS

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House on Thursday defended the National Security Agency’s need to collect telephone records of U.S. citizens, calling such information “a critical tool in protecting the nation from terrorist threats.”

While defending the practice, a senior Obama administration official did not confirm a newspaper report that the NSA has been collecting the telephone records of millions of U.S. customers of Verizon under a top secret court order.

The order was granted by the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court on April 25 and is good until July 19, Britain’s Guardian newspaper reported Wednesday. The order requires Verizon, one of the nation’s largest telecommunications companies, on an “ongoing, daily basis” to give the NSA information on all telephone calls in its systems, both within the U.S. and between the U.S. and other countries.

Thank goodness the British newspaper The Guardian will tell us a little about what the U.S. Government is up to! The U.S. media is not up to the task.

The Patriot Act was the worst thing to ever happen to this country. Remember the great sales job "if your not with us your against us" because of that BS we gave up so many rights.
And of course Obama just continued it all because no President gives up more control.

Well, I'm cancelling my Verizon service. I'll take my business somewhere else to be spied on!

Last month we where told that the war on terror was over. Why do we now need this "critical tool in protecting the nation from terrorist threats"?

FOLKS....after bombing of the Towers 9/ll you all know we lost many of our freedoms required in the name of protecting us from Bin Laden and his kind.

Thankfully Bin Laden is gone however many idiots still have goals of destroying our country.

I question: Does it bother you that IRS is "snooping" ? You must realize this is what IRS has been about forever.

2. Phone calls monitered/watched. I could care less Im not doing anything illegal on the phone or in my home. If, it does stop some of the insane "foreigners" that are here to kill and destroy well moniter.

Everyone must know in seeking "better security" every where you turn there is cameras videoing us.

Do you remember that BIN LADEN, one of the USAs greatest enemy was taken down under OBAMA?

DO YOU REMEMBER ONE REASON FOR OUR INVADING IRAQ WAS (per Bush and Chaney) WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION HIDEN IN IRAQ? None was found.

Yet the company that financially prospered was Haliburton, Cheney's company. Of course taking Sadam out was A GOOD THING but I know our intelligence could have accomplished this without billions of dollars spent in that senseless war. Tragic tht all the time, money, lives were being used BIN LADEN was living in a huge compound in Palestine.

3:57, and as usual the bad guys are ten steps ahead. Our govt. needs to cut the "electronic" intelligence crap and get back to the old fashioned "human" and ground intelligence. Too much time and money being wasted on what is amounting to expensive video games and overpaid gamers.

IslandSTAR said "we "lost" many of our freedoms. BS!! You GAVE THEM AWAY. You didn't lose anything. They were TAKEN from you and you cheered! And, he also said he could "care less" when he probably meant "couldn't care less", but the bottom line is NOT whether you are "doing anything illegal" -- the overwhelming majority are NOT -- but whether or not we still have Constitutional rights against overbearing government. CHINA does this stuff. Now, America does it too. And we do it better than anyone. Keep cheering. Wildly! But at least wear your SS uniform so we can better identify your intent and political persuasion. One final point to remember --- there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING -- NOTHING!! --that terrorists can do to "destroy our country". Stop falling for every damn "boogeyman" they trot out at regular intervals to keep the stupid, Facebook-fool citizens quivering in fear and ready to agree to anything and everything as long as they are "protected". You are getting played like a violin....

Too many dolts out there who think if they are not doing anything wrong or have anything to hide the government can do whatever it wants. WRONG!

I don't urge anyone to give their rights away, but if you must, don't drag me down with you.

How many times must you be reminded of Ben Franklin's words before it sinks in?

All you sheeple, line up on the left, and away from the rest of us. I don't want to get hit by a stray bullet.

Oh wait, now it's been disclosed they have been doing it to 9 internet servers too. Now the government has your phone calls and your documents.

Still find this acceptable?

NEW YORK (TheBlaze/AP) — The government knows who you’re calling.

Every day. Every call.

Former employees of the National Security Agency say the publishing of a court order asking Verizon to hand over all its phone calling records for a three-month period opens a new window on an operation that has been in place for years and involves all major U.S. phone companies.

“NSA has been doing all this stuff all along, and it’s been all these companies, not just one,” William Binney told news program Democracy Now on Thursday. “They’re just continuing the collection of this data on all U.S. citizens.”

So much for switching phone companies.

The number of people who are saying, "If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about," about the government spying is unbelievable. It's so hard for my mind to even comprehend that there are people that actually think that way. It's just something I can't rationalize because it makes no sense and there is no justifiable excuse.
