A Maryland delegate launches a campaign to close what he calls a loophole in Maryland gun laws.
Pat Warren reports–the problem affects getting firearms out of the hands of convicted criminals.
New legislation signed into law this month bans assault-style weapons and requires gun purchasers to be licensed and fingerprinted.
But according to Montgomery County Delegate Luiz Simmons, it skipped one common sense point he plans to address next year.

How about the problem of the state of Maryland failing to conduct background checks within the mandated 7 day period? I've been waiting since February!!!
Here's an idea, Louise... how about, before you cram a gun bill down our throats, you READ IT and change it before hand. It's bad enough that the new laws only penalize common, law abiding citizens, but now you show more proof that this bill was simply a TAX and FEE hike, and not something to PROTECT OUR CHILDREN, ETC ETC ETC.
Louise, I realize that your life as a delegate must be tough, what with your half a year vacation, kickbacks from lobbyist, and sitting up on that pedestal must be tough on your rear. But, maybe, just maybe, you could READ something before signing it?
Sincerely,
A Marylander who is now moving to the Commonwealth of VA, and taking his multi million dollar business with him.

bye bye. send us cigs now and then.
I can't believe that it would cost $350,000 to do this just more government wasteful spending, but what is new for the state of repression and taxes?
I am not 2:23 but as for 3:42
Bye, bye!!! I still own properties in Wicomico county but moved to FL....Took my business and money there. No state income tax and no BS gun laws. Have fun making up for all the other people that have taken their business and tax dollars to less liberal states.

Good for you. Who cares?
Florida is the most Democratic state I've ever lived in, and I'm from Illinois! But, that's neither here nor there; the issue is to get computers to talk to each other, something all of us out here in Free Market Land already have! I am a contractor who registered to be on the Gov database to receive bid invites for 2 years. I have never received an invite, but have recently been informed that their system had been hacked, and all my information, including my business account #, FEIN, SSN, and name and address was part of it, and, oh, by the way, we have not received your updated information, and in order to stay in our database, you need to re-submit and update your information.
I declined.
This is why our Gov. officials think our internet is "broken" and they need to pass a law to "fix" it. Cispa, kispa, etc.
Freaking dolts couldn't find their arses with both hands, and want us to turn the internet over to their control!
Hold me down...
Jeb Bush - Rick Scott governors of FL most democratic state 6:23 has ever lived in???? You can walk in to a store and walk out with handgun as long as background check is clean. They give out CCW permits like candy.
There were honorable men such as Mr. Mike McDermott, who tried to close the loop holes on the floor, but the cult majority of Baltimore, PG, and Montgomery Counties, didn't even read it and pushed it through un amended. They even bragged it was "The Dawning of the age of aquarius", this is the occult people!! They don't understand the dark forces they're taking orders from at the top of the chain. I think Maryland may translate to Sodom or Gomorrah in some other language. It's getting crazy, really fast.
