Ought to dig up Madalyn Murray O'Hair and send her remains, along with the Boston Bombers, back to another country. So sick and tired of the tail wagging the frickin dog in this country. Stories like this make me sick. I agree with the poster that said the 2nd place team should not accept.
What happened to the runner was wrong. But I also feel that making a public spectacle of your faith is wrong, too. Pointing up in the air (is that where God is?); pounding your chest and kissing your thumb (whatever that designates); or holding a short prayer service on one knee after a touchdown in front of thousands of people, is nothing more than grandstanding. A silent, thoughtful moment with your God would be sufficient. The only problem with doing that is that it wouldn't say, "Hey everybody, look at me..I'm a religious kind of guy!"
