I completely understand the human emotion. That is why we have charitable organizations.
But, do you think this guy payed attention in school? Did he have a mother and father that cared? Any guidance that would have instilled a sense of responsibility to take care of himself?
Sorry, his misgivings are not the responsibility of tax payers.

10:37, You must not have PAID attention in school either.

Funny how people refuse to have compassion for people that WORK, Pay their OWN way, EARN what is bestowed upon them.
It must be the liberal edict of jealousy and hate that has transformed America into this soft hearted excuse ridden society we have.
Liberals want successful people to feel guilty for getting an education, working hard and earning a living.
Really 10:37? Is that all you got?
I doubt the man in the video even knows the alphabet correctly and you bust on someone for a mis-spelled word in a quick post that states simple truth?
Loser.

The Obama karma is getting all Americans.

Its not that people dont have compassion for people who 'paved their own way'. Why do you need praise for what your supposed to do? If thats what yo want then Good Job....now what? It is our duty as society to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. If we all did that then ultimately the world would be changed. If you've become successful on 'your own' what more do you want? Why do you want what should be given to the in need and oppressed? You've made it remember!?! To me thats defined as greed. Since you've made it maybe you should give a piece of your pie. But you wont you want it all for yourself.....Greed, a deadly sin. God be with us all.

The video illustrates KARMA perfectly.

hey 1:17
I made mine and I'll keep mine, when the time comes , I'll take yours if I need it.
We are made up of all kinds of people , rich , middle class ,poor and poverty level. Been to all of them , don't like the last three at all.

I give 40+% to the Government now. What more do you want?

Well losing my job recently after 20 years of dedicated employment the only thing that that was said from someone who could have corrected the wrong was I sympathize for you. Guess what Jack Ass your sympathy doesn't pay my mortgage. I am praying Karma comes to the corrupted individual who did what they did to me.

3:26 - I can relate. Employers have no loyalty for their employees and could care less about them, BUT they DEMAND that you be loyal to their company and that you idolize their company.

Most employers have no mercy on their employees and consider them just mere numbers on their bottom line.

As far as 2:12 and other arrogant ignoramouses that think they are so great and invincible, I betcha you won't feel so ALMIGHTY 50 years from now. In fact, 100 years from now nobody will even care about you or remember you whatsoever or even visit you as your bones lay scattered in a coffin with a tombstone above your ever so ALMIGHTY self.

As far as your "when the time comes, I'll take yours if I need it." GREEDY and SELFISH comment 2:12 - what you take 'aint gonna get you too far when you are a bunch of scattered bones lying in your grave buddy!

In a robust economy you would not have a lot of this. There would be a job for everyone. NO equal pay maybe but that's capitalism. Working is better than panhandling in more ways than just how much money he can get in a day.

And ther are charitable organizations that would help him with more resources on hand in a more vibrant economy.

Democrats have failed us completely.

the lack of compassion comes from the bigger picture that typically the homeless are either drug addicts, alcoholics, are mentally ill, or career panhandlers like the ones on the north end of town. I work hard for my money, have bills to pay and at times did not mind sharing, but not any more. You can not tell the difference between the true person simply down on their luck or the liar simply using the system for a quick buck or money for drugs and booze.

lol you have no clue what tomorrow will bring. You MIGHT THINK you are prepared, but so did many, many people. I hope, for your sake, that you are very young. At least that could be an excuse for such an arrogant and ignorant statement. If you have any age on you, you are just foolish.

Pride goeth before a fall. The man in the video is a better man than you. You're just mean.

These people are all over Salisbury. I help when I can, but I still have my own bills to pay. Some of these people are in the position their in because of their own actions. It would be great if they could be given a second chance, but who can afford the legal risks.

There's a lot more going on with the homeless than you are all talking about. Granted, there were homeless in 2005 when the economy was good, and I talked to one when it was my chore to tell him he had to move for construction purposes. He did not want a home. He celebrated his gig! no bills, and he could work painting 8 days a month and be fat!
Then you have the mentally impaired, but I fail to see it when they are all in their own union as to who owns what corner.
Sure, there's one or more who OD during the year , but it's a business like any other; same happens in construction.
The economy in good repair would allow these folks the OPPORTUNITY to choose the alternative, and if we all didn't have a 40% tax burden, we would be able to tithe to the churches that could help these folks break the bond this man is under.
This will not change until we bust the overbearing taxes we all endure, which, effectively, will cost this man's lifetime.

Shame on Maryland.

God bless the homeless, but only if they try.

"I am prepared for the future".....famous last words. My father and mother always said "don't judge the person from his circumstances" because , but for the Grace of God, you go there. I think of those THOUSANDS of Enron workers who saw their 401(k) retirement fund go from $400-500,000 to $8,000 and are now working at Wal-Mart getting customers. They lost their houses, cars, and their future. But I'll bet my house that a week before that criminal scandal, all of them thought they had it made.... No one knows what the future holds, so be careful with the high and mighty "I'm smarter/better/richer than you".

Yesterday I saw an SPD officer telling a man and woman that they had to "move along" They were in the median strip in front of the Exxon station (in front of the Centre)holding a sign which of course asks for help of some sort. There was no scene, and they moved as requested, but they stood in the Exxon parking lot like they were waiting for him to leave.Situations like this are sad and lack any reasonable solutions.

I was recently forced out of my job and I am so afraid this will happen to me.

These pan handlers are it that intersection every day. Not only is it illegal, it is dangerous as they play frogger when the light changes. They are holding up traffic as well and they will eventually get killed. They are a burden on the city police and should find another place to panhandle. They are breaking the law and the police officers are giving them a break by telling them to move on.
