A Brown-Ulman Ticket Could Shake Up Democratic Primary For Md. Governor’s Office

Maryland Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown, who is poised to announce next month that he is running for governor, is in discussions with Howard County Executive Ken Ulman about joining his ticket, according to several people familiar with the talks.

The pairing of Democrats Brown and Ulman — who has been gearing up to run for governor himself — would shake up a highly competitive Democratic primary to succeed Gov. Martin O’Malley just as it gets underway in earnest.

By adding Ulman as the lieutenant governor candidate, Brown could erase much of a huge early fundraising advantage that Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler (D) enjoys over all other 2014 gubernatorial hopefuls in both parties. As of January, Ulman had $2.1 million sitting in his campaign account, more than the$1.6 million Brown reported having on hand.

Who gets the mandatory union dues contribution?

It truly makes no difference. If the Democrats remain in the Governor's office, there will be more taxes and more spending. In Maryland most of the Democratic registered voters ether work for the Government or are on Government assistance. Maryland Republican voters would have to turn out in numbers of around 60% in order to defeat the a Democrat. Maryland Republicans it's time to get serious.

Please Dear Lord don't let the local stupidity shown here in abundance spread state wide

I'm pretty sure now that Marylander's are tired of the Democrats by now. That is, if they have any common sense at all. I would think the electorate would go other party, but then, we are not in control of the pre-programmed voting machines.

With the voting block 2 to 1 liberals in Maryland they could put Homer Simpson with him and win.

So I say every republican change to democrat so we can vote in the primary. Then we vote against him. A vote in the primary is worth 2-3 votes at regular voting time since not many vote in the primary. This way as a republican my vote my actually matter and have meaning in Maryland.

We did far better and had more growth with Erlich than with O'malley and Glendenning combined.
