This Is The Kind Of Leadership I Want To Bring To Salisbury

You have to have a long term vision, not instant and temporary fixes.  I need your vote to start redeveloping Salisbury with the incredible resources we already have, yet haven't cashed in on. We have a River Walk no one visits. We have a Downtown no one has really taken seriously.

Together we can do incredible things with new VISION and LEADERSHIP. Please take the time to watch this video. I can't answer major questions in Forums with only 1 minute to respond.

Once you see this video you'll have a better understanding as to where I believe we need to be. I thank you for taking the time to view this video.

I don't live in Salisbuyr but from what I observe, it can go nowhere but up.

Long overdue, good luck!

9:53 - it can continue to go downhill if needed changes are not made.

If you can really do something with downtown that would be unprecedented. I've lived here off and on for 57 years and it hasn't been done yet. Please concentrate on the local economy first though.

You really want to put Salisbury on the map? Make it like San Antonio. Take the entire East prong of the Wicomico and make it a navigable from The Ward museum, through the park allthe way to the main river. That will require dredging and having bridges here or there but it would be a real attraction that would connect downtown to the zoo to the park to the Civic Center to the Elks golf course to the Ward Museum. WOW!!

If you want to see the problems of Salisbury and the potential next mayor I suggest you visit brew river this Saturday from 11pm - 2 am and see how much taxpayer money is being wasted

Take a look at Rockville MD, they completely redid their downtown with the help of developers and it is amazing, a place that is filled with people all the time, businesses full and people having fun.

Salisbury has never used the river walk water resource that so many cities bring to life, instead Salisbury has killed all attempts.

Thank you again to Palmer Gillis for fighting past Salisbury's blindness and kept doing it anyway.

Awesome sell, I'm ready to go.

In response to 12:12 I wouldn't visit Brew River at any time least of all Saturday night. That place was supposed to really enhance the downtown. The only thing it's done is gather trouble makers. Thanks Frank Hanna. Ah, but as I recall, they got a free parking lot and fence and, probably, free taxes for a while. What did he have to pay to hook up to city water and sewer? ZERO. At least he was vain enough to give a little to the hospital so he could get his name on a building.

Well when anyone has an emergency on Saturday and the police don't respond it's because they are trying to keep the peace of brew rivers patrons every Saturday night all three police forces are there in high numbers attempting to control the local thugs so frank Hanna can fill his pockets. I'd like to know what these agencies think about the wasted hours?

I'm sure the police agencies are thrilled to spend so many resources at Frank Hanna's Brew River. As much money as Hanna has, he should have his own police force. They can't make it as a restaurant because, like all of his other "restaurants", the food comes from Sysco (frozen) and it sucks. So they have to rely on the "nightclub" scene to keep the cash flow strong enough to justify opening the doors everyday.

Brew River has been on a downward spiral since I moved here. I stopped going there when I knew a waitress there, and saw a pic of their kitchen. The food is junk, and the typical patrons even worse.

Can we get back on topic here. I think we've heard enough about Brew River. I've heard you loud and clear, if that helps any.

Downtown Rockville is fantastic with great place to eat and nice shops . We will never see that in Salisbury.

Nice film! And not a parking meter in it!

Downtown Fredrick is absolutely beautiful and a huge money maker for the business owners and for the tax base . They have brought in resteraunts of all type, museums and shops of all sorts.we live going there

Wilmington NC is another example of a city that's revitalized its downtown and riverfront. They started in the late 70s with a plan. It takes long term committment and changes to the city code as the video shows Miami did. Businesses will thrive in spaces people want to be in.

To much homeless/criminal aspects hanging around downtown, look at what shore transit had to do to break up the BS in the area?

12:20, a lot of us are sick of hearing what a visionary Palmer Gillis is. He's got a couple of buildings downtown that he prettied up and didn't stick anything exciting in, just more of the same old guvmint and office space. Money for him, nothing for the public. His plan for the old firehouse was a big ho hum at the expense of local businesses that have no subsidies. When he went on his rant about the council to the daily rag, I lost respect for him.

Joe I have been trying to find some ammo for my 22 to go target shooting and everyone is out of stock of most ammo even on line. I went to Walmart, Dick's and Gander Mountain today and just about all ammo is sold out. I just got online to see what I could find and again everything is SOLD OUT. The citizens in this country will not be able to protect themselves and their families because they won't have ammo to put in their guns. This is definitely by design.

The vision must be shared for all to understand.
This won't happen when 60% of our citizens are on entitlement and drawing obama care , phones and paid education.
It's over for the city and the country.

As a "come here" over 24 years ago, we were drawn to Salisbury since it had such potential. Now the kids are grown.. and gone to Baltimore and New York City and mom and dad remain in.. Salisbury.. still yearning for our city to realize its potential.
Some of the readers of Salisbury News may only have criticism to offer but now is the time to take charge and elect a leader who is willing to shake things up and think out of the box. Joe Albero has nothing to lose in this election while Salisbury has everything to lose! The present mayor has some very troubling personal problems which interferes with his ability to think clearly and rationally when it comes to Salisbury issues. The young man running for City Council is a very bright and decent individual. However when reading his brochure it sounded so much like a rerun of an old movie seen time and time again resulting in the same conclusion time and time again... Mr. Albero has in reality thrown out a challenge to the Citizens of Salisbury. If you like status-quo and the way things are being run right now then reelect the Mayor. If you want to take a risk for promoting real change, direction and opportunity in Salisbury, then let's back Joe and ..."get out the vote!"

3:12 .22lr is available online every single day. Personally, I wouldn't buy from Gander right now, as they've raised their prices due to the market. That, and their employees are getting first dibs, leaving the customers out in the cold.

I have 10,000 rounds I will sell to the highest bidder.

5:53. you sound like a bitter jealous wannabe

11:56. please tell us where the money for your grandiose plan will come from

I see this comes from Debbie Campbell's site. She is an innovative thinker. That's why Ireton and his pals in the Barrie Tilghman squad don't want her. She can figure out how to make things happen without wasting money to do it.

Ireton has spent more of his 4 years targeting and damaging anyone who disagrees with him than building something real for Salisbury.

I had a vision , it ain't pretty.
