Being an addict is a personal problem that only that person can fix themselves. When the government steps in and locks up addicts, they are forcibly removing an addict from regular society. Sure they will clean up in prison, but it fixes nothing in the long run. What happens when you insert that person back into the "real" world or society? They go right back to using. Let the users use and the churches and government programs do their job.
The war on drugs was nothing more then a realy cool slogin. If the government wanted to stop the problem it could . But think of all the money and jobs it creats.
So let a thieving crack head stay free cause he is an addict? Your crazy! Do the time for the crime then when you get out ....do more time in a rehab. There is no addict in jail that didn't commit a crime.so come off the they're innocent crap. Butthole
