Charges Could Come This Week In 'Meet The Press' Rifle Magazine Incident

The D.C. Attorney General's Office is likely to decide this week whether anyone will be prosecuted for an incident in which NBC News reporter David Gregory displayed what was said to be a high-capacity rifle magazine on "Meet the Press."

"[The Metropolitan Police Department] has completed the investigation into this matter, and the case has been presented to the OAG for a determination of the prosecutorial merit of the case," D.C. police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump wrote in an email.

Attorney General's Office spokesman Ted Gest said that he thinks the office will likely make a decision about whether to file charges by the end of the week.

It's a stupid law to begin with. One could have ten regular mags instead of one 'super' mag and still have the same result.

Switching mags is fast. Big deal.

But it is the LAW and all of us are supposed to obey, even the media. That's the point in this case, NBC asked and were denied, yet this reporter did it anyway. Suppose this was you or me, we asked, were told no, and we did it anyway. Well, we would have charges placed. So why is it that the media is immune? I think he should be charged and punished according to the law on file, period.

Get a life. There are BAD laws out there. This is a stupid law. So is putting drug users in jail. The war on drugs needs another solution. 30 round clips? Make them 50! You can't fire that many straight through without overheating your barrel and ruining your gun! Nobody here is using common sense! No gun owners have opinions like this! It's the insanity of FEAR running peoples' lives instead of the calmness of LOVE.

We live in fear, or in love. It's a CHOICE! Just like deciding to live in love of your fellow man, or deciding to do something INSANE!

We, as humans, have the capacity to make these decisions on our own.

It has always been thus.

Ordinarily I would flaunt the law because of it's unconstitutionality.
BUT, in this instance let the liberal Obama butt sniffer pay the piper for breaking the law so he can feel the pain of exercising your rights like ordinary Americans.
(I hope he enjoys the tax increase also)

Pettiness at the highest level opposed to pettiness at the lowest level.

Yeah, it's an "attack on our freedom" when people want to keep US from owning those clips but when the SAME government enforces the SAME law on someone we generally disagree with- THEN we are all for it because we are idiots.
