MAN WHO DEFRAUDED WICOMICO RESIDENTS SENTENCED TO 33 YEARS IN THE CUSTODY OF THE DIVISION OF CORRECTIONS

On September 28, 2012, Gary Richard Hurwitz was sentenced to 33 years in the Division
of Corrections by a Wicomico County Circuit Court judge.  The basis of the violation of
probation was the Defendant’s failure to pay over $41,000 in restitution to various victims who
he defrauded in 2004-2005.  In one case, the defendant claimed to have an arrangement with a
local bank where he had access to repossessed all terrain vehicles (ATVs).  Hurwitz sold seven
ATVs to local citizens and never delivered the merchandise.  In two other cases, he sold a total
of three automobiles which he did not own to local citizens.

Wish it was the one from C.A.R.S of Millsboro who used to shop my neighborhood at 1:30 in the morning in his all white towtruck and got my son's Honda 250 four wheeler a couple years ago. I chased him out and called the cops on him and he hasn't been back, but the other day I saw him driving to Pocomoke City. Look out, folks, he's out there! BTW, his business address is an empty lot in Millsboro. Look it up!
