Only a few months after enacting a ban on the hundreds of medical marijuana dispensaries in Los Angeles, the L.A. City Council voted 11-2 last night in favor of repealing the ban.
“Where does anybody go, even a councilman go, to get his medical marijuana?” asked Councilman Bill Rosendahl, who has a rare form of cancer and uses marijuana to cope with the side effects of chemotherapy.
The Council members who are still in favor of the ban say it’s pointless to keep the dispensaries open when they are being raided by federal officers and receiving shut-down notices.
