Interesting Information/History On Property Behind Civic Center

1990 - County sells to Grumman for $255,300

Nice profit for Grumman. Reminds us of fire house property.

Sounds like a "Perk" for staying in Salisbury.

"You want to move out of Salisbury?"
"What if we buy back that property for $2 million, will that keep you here?"

Sounds like a smart business man.

Was that done on Tony Baloney Sarbanes watch? Rusty Molnar?

What's interesting about the firehouse property is one of the main ring leaders is still in power. Richard A. Hoppes, he calls himself "Chief." Thanks Jim!

Follow the money. Look to see which candidates Grumman and/or it's management made politcal contributions.
Similar thing happened in Berlin about 2 or 3 years ago, expect Berlin paid over the top dollars for the property. I can't remember the details but I do remember the parcel in question appreciated in value like nothing anyone's ever seen before. Probably broke a US record by the way that property increased in value. Never seen anything like it....maybe the mayor and council of Berlin knows theirs a gold mine or something on the property-LOL.

I'm willing to bet that the County made many times that back in the tax revenue from Grumman employees... when they started shuffling in here from Bethpage in '86, they were buying up a lot of those houses in Deer Harbor and Fox Chase and along Nutters Cross Roads (before the golf course development was there).

So it might help -- before we go slandering people -- to look at the bigger picture.

Also, the state tax records site is not always accurate.
