FEDERALSBURG -- The former treasurer of the Men's Auxiliary's of the Federalsburg VFW has been accused of embezzling about $23,000 from the organization over a period of more than a year, the Caroline County Sheriff's Office reported.
Wendell Eugene Merrick II, 38, of 3882 Old Denton Road, Federalsburg, was arrested Sept. 27 and charged with theft of more than $10,000 but less than $100,000, and theft scheme of more than $10,000 but less than $100,000.
