ELKTON, Md. — A frustration — verging on anger, sweeping across rural Maryland over governmental intrusion into the lives and welfare of its citizens — is boiling over in Cecil County.
The focus there is the impact of Senate Bill 236, known as “the septic bill, ” which clearly empowers the state to adjust and/or design local land use planning.
The Cecil County commissioners slated an open forum for last Tuesday evening to allow citizen comment on a land use draft which they had earlier approved by a 3-2 vote.
An estimated 250 to 300 citizens showed up at the county administration building, not only to protest SB 236, but to vent about the majority-approved land use draft.
The crowd overwhelmed the seating capacity of the meeting room and required a speaker system to be installed in the lobby so that an overflow crowd of about 75 could participate.
The meeting lasted more than three hours and, in the end, commissioners announced that two more meetings would be held.

Enviromental groups control this state.Who ever allowed private enviromental groups to make policy should be thrown out of office.
Two more meetings, huh? ANOTHER scam on the citizens, just like the Bay Bridge toll hearings, where our "leaders" wanted to give the serfs the idea that their input actually mattered, when in fact, the decision was already a done deal. I keep telling you, our "representatives" DON'T represent us any more. I GUARANTEE you --- the new septic reg's WILL become law and it wouldn't matter if EVERY citizen in the state protested. Your voice and opinion mean exactly NOTHING to them. But you keep falling for these "citizen forums" and such. How many times do you need to get hit in the head with a bat before you start fighting back? At least, start thinking that hitting you MIGHT be an indication of SOMETHING....
